Penn State's O'Brien to speak at Brooks-Irvine banquet

Penn State coach Bill O'Brien will be the guest speaker at the 69th annual Brooks-Irvine Memorial Football Club banquet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Cherry Hill.

Penn State coach Bill O'Brien will be the guest speaker at the 69th annual Brooks-Irvine Memorial Football Club banquet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Cherry Hill.

The all-South Jersey football team will be honored, as will the South Jersey coach of the year, as selected by the club.

Four former South Jersey players will be honored as college players of the year: Antoine Lewis of Villanova (Mainland), Carlton Koonce of Fordham (Rancocas Valley), James Monroe of Tabor College (Pemberton), and Mike Pacitti of Widener (West Deptford).

Another banquet highlight will be the announcement of four scholar-athlete award winners.

South Jersey's No. 1 team also will be presented with the Brooks-Irvine Award.
