Camden's free throws sink Medford Tech

Camden's boys' basketball team erased a 20-point halftime deficit one free throw at a time on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers made 24 of 30 foul shots in the second half and overtime to grind out a 72-69 come-from-behind victory over Medford Tech at the Jimmy V Showcase hosted by Schalick.

Brad Hawkins (game-high 24 points) went 8 for 9 from the line after the break and Rasool Hinson (16 points) sank 8 of 10 during the same span.

Also at Schalick, Keith Braxton had 25 points and 14 rebounds to power Washington Township past Delsea, 68-61.

Ocean City PBA Tipoff. Dennis White grabbed 15 rebounds - six on offense - and Atlantic City edged Wildwood Catholic, 44-41.

Holy Spirit opened on a 19-0 run and rolled to a 78-37 victory over Pleasantville. Junior Saintel had 16 points and four blocks for the Spartans.

Nonleague. Senior point guard Masner Beauplan piled up 38 points - the second-highest total in Winslow Township history - and the Eagles took down visiting Notre Dame, 78-72.

Beauplan went 13 for 17 from the foul line. Winslow's Devon Robinson had 19 points and seven rebounds in his second varsity game.

Girls' Basketball

Tanasia Russell scored a career-high 30 points and none were more important than the five she got in overtime to give Vineland a 66-63 nonleague victory over visiting Buena.

Vineland's Aalyiah Harold drained a 15-foot jumper with three seconds remaining to send it to overtime.

In other nonleague action:

Taylor Graham had 18 points, Maddie Stebich added 13 points, and host Woodbury dropped Camden, 58-32.

Ocean City PBA Tipoff. Middle Township used a 10-point overtime period to take down Millville, 52-44.

Holly McKaig (12 points, 14 rebounds) got the Panthers to OT by completing a three-point play with 17 seconds remaining in regulation.

Lexi Bruno had 20 points, 11 steals, and eight rebounds for Millville.

Robert Morris recruit Jocelyn Jones scored 26 points and Kyanna Filmore had 14 rebounds to lead Winslow Township past Cedar Creek, 66-57.

Festival of the Phoenix. Future Florida Gator Isis Young had 25 points, 9 assists and 8 steals to guide Life Center past Imhotep, 67-34, in Newark, N.J.

Nonleague. Michigan State-bound senior Kennedy Johnson had 22 points and 13 rebounds to propel Wildwood Catholic over visiting Bridgeton, 58-25.

Danielle Sanderlin racked up 11 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds in her first varsity game for the Crusaders.
