Gloucester needed Austin Darrow to be as good as he was in a 1-0 home win against Deptford in a nonleague baseball game Wednesday.

Darrow pitched a three-hitter and struck out 11 without issuing a walk.

Chris Walmsley singled home John Lindenborn in the first inning, and it was enough for Darrow.

In other nonleague play:

Jeff Keyes had two hits, including one of Middle Township's five doubles, in a 10-0 win over visiting Atlantic County Tech. Keyes also earned the win on the mound with six scoreless innings.

Ryan Gold and Justin Varga each homered in the first inning, and Moorestown never looked back in a 12-3 win at New Egypt.

Tanner Clifford had two triples and earned the win on the mound in Riverside's 19-4 home win over Palmyra.

Ryan Shinn had a home run and a double in Northern Burlington's 21-6 triumph at Triton.

Cal Ripken Experience. Christian Scafidi drove in the only run with a base hit in the second inning, and Highland held on for a 1-0 win against St. Charles (Ohio) in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Scafidi struck out six over 51/3 scoreless innings to earn the win against St. Charles, Ohio's defending Catholic League champion.

Touchstone Energy Beach Classic. Wayne Jackson and Najee Martin each homered in Winslow Township's 9-8 win against South Stanley (N.C.) in West Brunswick (N.C.).

Austin Tassi fanned eight in seven innings and knocked in three runs at the plate to help Audubon earn a 6-2 win against Pigeon Forge (Tenn.).

Olympic National. Devin Ruiz legged out a two-run, inside-the-park homer in Paul VI's 5-1 win over visiting Seneca.

Tri-County Royal. Brothers Eric and Ryan Lauk each doubled to help Clearview top visiting Cumberland, 6-4.

Tri-County Classic. Josh Shimp went 4 for 4 with three doubles in Pennsville's 15-0 rout of visiting Clayton.

Cape-Atlantic American. LT Struble went 3 for 4 to help Hammonton earn an 8-5 win against visiting Holy Spirit.

Johnny Malatesta had a home run and a double in Vineland's 13-5 win at Egg Harbor Township. Malatesta finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Kyle Cox, Nick Grotti, and Ryan McIsaac each doubled in Millville's 10-4 home win over Oakcrest.

Cape-Atlantic National. Bradley Fournier raced out an inside-the-park home run in Lower Cape May's 15-5 victory against visiting Bridgeton. Fournier went 3 for 3 with six RBIs.

Sophomore Bobby Smith earned a win in his first varsity start. He struck out nine in 42/3 innings.

Lacrosse

Aaron Bennett, Kevin Hall, Tyler Vidal, and Collin Wilson each scored twice to help Rancocas Valley pull out a 10-9 overtime win at Hightstown in a nonleague game.

In other nonleague play, Trey Anderson's seven goals lifted Winslow Township to a 9-8 home win over Cedar Creek.
