S. Jersey Boys: Fri. S.J. boys: Cakir's goal boosts Burlington City

SOCCER BURLINGTON COUNTY LEAGUE Burlington City 3, Maple Shade 2: Osman Cakir took the ball up the left wing and scored to the far post with eight minutes left to provide the winner for the visiting Blue Devils. Cakir's goal was assisted by Faruk Ozdemir, who had tied the score earlier in the second half. Ozdemir's equalizer came 10 seconds after the Wildcats took the lead on a goal by Devon Plumlee.

Rancocas Valley 1, Northern Burlington 0: Matt Hannan scored for the host Red Devils, ranked No. 2 in South Jersey by The Inquirer. His goal came in the 30th minute on an assist by Don Palmucci.

COLONIAL LIBERTY

Haddonfield 3, Audubon 1: Richie Bond, Wyatt Dugan, and Matt Fell scored for the Bulldogs, who topped the Green Wave on the road. Jonathan Baxter made 11 saves.

COLONIAL PATRIOT

Haddon Heights 7, Paulsboro 0: Jesse Weick had a hat trick and an assist for the No. 9 Garnets, who won at home. Eric Cathcart, Andrew Hicks, Jake Hourani, and Matt Pender rounded out the scoring. Hourani assisted on two goals, and Jack Hammill needed just one save for the shutout.

Lindenwold 3, Gateway 1: Jesus Cardenas deposited a goal and dished out two assists to help the Lions defeat the visiting Gators. Nahum Arevalo and Oumar Sylla added goals. Manuel Ortega turned away 10 shots.

Haddon Township 3, Woodbury 0: Chris Kobsar and Mario Mandescu each had a goal and an assist for the No. 6 Hawks, who scored three second-half goals to win on the road. Christian Roche was the other goal-scorer. Kieran Burns stopped four shots for the shutout.

OLYMPIC AMERICAN

Cherokee 3, Eastern 1: Rob Gillin netted a goal and assisted on two others for the No. 8 Chiefs, who took down the visiting Vikings. Danny Hampton and Jake Treiber also scored.

Cherry Hill East 0, Shawnee 0: Lee Rosen-Swell stopped 10 shots for the Cougars, Dalton Wu made eight saves for the visiting Renegades, and the teams tied after two overtimes.

Washington Township 1, Lenape 0: Dan Marino knocked in the winner for the Minutemen at home. Burak Ozdemir recorded the assist. Travis Yates had three saves in the shutout.

CAPE-ATLANTIC LEAGUE

Millville 2, Buena 1: Tim Cain and Jeff Proffit were the scorers for the host Thunderbolts. Proffit and Nick Grotti each picked up an assist.

CAPE-ATLANTIC AMERICAN

St. Augustine 2, Vineland 1: Christian Bik scored two goals, including the overtime winner, to lead the Hermits to a road win over the Fighting Clan. John Taormina had an assist.
