In the last game of his career, Keith Braxton refused to yield.
With Delsea facing a double-digit deficit against Winslow Township in the South Jersey Group 3 championship game, Braxton kept grabbing rebounds, kept going to the basket, kept scoring.
"That's Keith," Delsea coach Tom Freeman said. "He's done that for us all season."
Braxton put together a remarkable season from a statistical standpoint. He averaged 22.0 points and 9.8 rebounds.
He led the team in assists with 162 and steals with 72. He shot 76 percent from the field (257 for 332) and 77 percent (144 for 187) from the foul line.
But it was Braxton's steady leadership and competitive spirit that helped Delsea put together a 24-6 season and reach the South Jersey Group 3 title game.
Braxton scored 15 in the final quarter of his last game. He finished with 31 that night and had a 31.2-point average in four tournament games.
