St. Augustine avenged last year's one-goal defeat to Malvern Prep with a stunning 11-7 victory Wednesday in a nonleague boys' lacrosse game.

St. Augustine avenged last year's one-goal defeat to Malvern Prep with a stunning 11-7 victory Wednesday in a nonleague boys' lacrosse game.

Delaware recruit Joe Eisele scored three goals and had one assist to lead the host Hermits. Hofstra-bound James Kitchen added two goals. Chase Young scored twice and Jared Chiachetti scored one goal and assisted on two others.

Billy McMenamin won 10 of 22 faceoffs and Ernie Alvino made eight saves.

Malvern Prep, which went undefeated last season and won the Inter-Ac Invitational, the de facto Pennsylvania prep school championship, entered the season ranked No. 6 in the nation by Nike/US Lacrosse.

In other nonleague action:

Anthony Brunetti, Scott Fayan, and Tim Montgomery scored two goals each in host Lenape's 10-6 triumph over Allentown.

Cherokee breezed by host Egg Harbor Township, 12-2, behind multi-goal efforts from senior forwards Jesse Streb (four) and Ryan Vallen (two). Jared Barlow, Max Bundesman, Timmy Carroll, Jordan Krug, Kevin Pierson, and RJ Wolf also scored for Cherokee.

Olympic Conference. Senior forward Josh Cohen scored three goals to lead Cherry Hill East to a 10-6 victory over visiting Paul VI. Evan Campbell, Ian Sheekey, and Matt Stern also scored for the Cougars.

Burlington County League. Northern Burlington senior forward Tristan Tilghman tallied eight goals in the Greyhounds' 16-5 victory over host New Egypt.
