Penns Grove wins South Jersey Group 1 championship

Quarterback Nick Elmer couldn't be stopped on the ground and it enabled Penns Grove to earn its first ever South Jersey Group 1 championship since the advent of NJSIAA playoffs in 1974.

Elmer rushed for 308 yards and two touchdowns as Penns Grove defeated Woodbury, 30-14 in Saturday's sectional final at Rowan University.

Penns Grove finished 12-0 and became the first team in state history to score 600 points, finishing with 621.

Woodbury finished 10-2.
