The Notre Dame field hockey team completed another successful season with a 10-2 victory over Germantown Academy in Wednesday's PAISAA championship game at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken.
Mia Leonhardt scored six goals for the Irish, who won both the Inter-Ac and PAISAA titles for the second straight year. Lauren Curran added three goals.
"The team took advantage of the playing surface and were able to use their speed and exceptional stick skills putting together some impressive passing patterns resulting in many scoring opportunities," said Notre Dame head coach Adele Williams.
Madeline Cooper and Sophia Towne scored for the Patriots, who were coming off a win over archrival Episcopal Academy in last Thursday's semifinals. The win was Germantown Academy's first over the perennial PAISAA power since November of 2007.
The Irish (17-2-3) beat the Patriots (14-6) in all three of their meetings this season.
Madison Niebish scored on a rebound three minutes into the game as Springside Chestnut Hill defeated Episcopal Academy, 1-0, in the PAISAA championship game at Immaculata University.
Last Thursday, the Blue Devils beat Westtown, 4-0, in the semifinals to avenge last year's loss to the Moose in the final.
Philip Burckhardt netted two goals as Springside Chestnut Hill blanked Hill School, 2-0, in the PAISAA championship game at Immaculata University.
The Blue Devils also won the Inter-Ac League title this season, their first since 2007 when the school was Chestnut Hill Academy.
