Saturday’s Southeastern Pa. roundup: CB East beats CB West with late touchdown

Quarterback Evan O'Donnell connected with receiver Chris Lochetta with just more than a minute left to give Central Bucks East a 27-20 victory over Central Bucks West on Saturday. O'Donnell and Jake Ventresca ran in touchdowns for East. Kicker Mike Smigley made two field goals, including one from 27 yards out to tie the game in the fourth quarter.

Kamal Gray threw four touchdown passes as Pope John Paul II defeated Phoenixville, 28-12. Gray connected with receiver Justin Kormos for three touchdowns, including
a Haily Mary before the end of the first half.

Ishaad Maultsby totaled three touchdowns in Chester's 38-0 victory over Glen Mills. Maultsby ran in an early score and caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Tahree Fuller-Bryan.

Jeb Brenfleck tossed four touchdown passes as Academy of New Church topped Lower Moreland, 39-0. Glenn Sabb II caught two touchdowns, including a 44-yard score. Zahir Reed caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from Brenfleck.

Tamir Berthau, Chris Kretchman, and Andrick Wesh ran in short touchdowns, and Reese Gibbs added a 29-yard field goal in Abington's 24-8 victory over Council Rock North. Abington's defense shut out Council Rock North for the first three quarters.

Patrick Garwo ran for three touchdowns, including runs of 80 and 50 yards, as Conwell-Egan defeated Bonner-Prendergast, 55-6. Jermoe Mitchell also ran for two scores, and Alex Goldsby ran in a touchdown.

James Hobbs-Pifer scored in the 80th minute off a an assist from Nolan Grady as Germantown Friends defeated Central, 1-0. Goalkeeper Eli Kushner earned his fourth shutout of the season.

Nick Bello notched a hat trick as Devon Prep defeated Springfield (Montco), 3-1.

Holy Ghost Prep topped Council Rock North, 2-1, behind goals from Nkosi Graham and Tyler Weimert to improve to 10-0 in the Bicentennial League.

Jackson Birtwistle, Eliot Hayes, Josh Savadove, and Peter Vitale scored in Radnor's 4-2 win over Archbishop Carroll.

Isaac Brainsky's two goals led Lower Merion to a 4-0 win over Upper Merion. Daniel Potter and Spencer Shah added goals, and Adam Shah had an assist.

West Chester Rustin's Matty Scoffone and Avon Grove's Jackson Muller scored as the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw.

Emma Devine and Theresa Richardson scored as Conwell-Egan defeated Truman, 2-0.

Julia Mirarchi scored twice in Cardinal O'hara's 6-1 win over Interboro. Marisa Lobb, Michelle Matteo, Ellie Miller, and Zyianna Wilmer also scored. Goalkeeper Kerry Patterson made seven saves.

Lower Moreland's Nikole Lisovyy defeated Delco Christian's Brette Foutch to win the District 1 Class AA singles championship. Lisovyy won in two sets, 6-3 and 6-4.

North Penn's Neha Velaga and Council Rock North's Amelia Honer advanced to the District 1 Class AAA singles championship. Velaga defeated Downingtown West's Jordan Bradley, and Honer defeated Souderton's Caitlin Le in the semifinals. The two will face each other on Oct. 24 for the district championship.
