Wed. Pa. boys and girls' roundup: Royals stay unbeaten with 3-OT win

Bridges' three, with seven seconds left, were the final points of the game.

It answered another three, by Ben Davis with 20 seconds left, that put Penncrest in a position to win it.

The Royals (14-0 overall, 9-0 league) were led by D.J. Johnson, who had 14 points, nine on three-point shots.

Ian Campbell knocked down four three-pointers for the the Lions and finished with 26 points.

Catholic. Gene Williams, a 6-foot-3 junior, scored 20 of his 21 points in the first half to get St. Joseph's Prep off to a good start in a 61-40 win over visiting Monsignor Bonner.

Amar Stukes had 14 points to lead host La Salle past Cardinal O'Hara, 67-41.

Juan'ya Green had 24 points for host Archbishop Carroll in its 69-41 win over Bishop McDevitt.

Lamin Fulton made six of his eight shots from the field in the second half to rally host Neumann-Goretti past Father Judge, 67-60. Fulton finished with 19 points. Teammate John Davis added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Fortunat Kangudi's 17 points and 10 rebounds was the difference for host Roman Catholic in a 64-47 win over Archbishop Ryan.

Shane Neher had 17 points and 11 rebounds for host Archbishop Wood in a 59-30 win over Lansdale Catholic.

Inter-Ac. Steve Perpeglia had seven assists, four rebounds, and three steals for host Malvern Prep in its 43-31 win over Penn Charter. Brendan Kilpatrick led the Friars (14-3 overall, 3-0 league) with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Suburban One Continental. Host Central Bucks East cruised past Souderton, 62-46, behind D.J. Beausejour's 16 points.

Nonleague. William Wingate came off the bench to score 11 points in the second half for host Mastery Charter North in a 46-36 win over Mastery Charter South. Wingate added eight rebounds for the Pumas (12-3).

Kohelet Yeshiva's Leibel Greenberg and Jake Marcus each had 16 points in a 63-38 win over visiting Crefield.

Jeremy Schulkin's 24 points powered Solebury School to a 60-42 win at Peddie School (N.J.).

Mark Gonzalez had 18 points for Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in a 44-41 win over visiting Katzenbach (N.J.).

Demetrius Davenport had 21 points, six rebounds, and five steals for Palumbo in a 76-59 win at Palmer.

Girls' Basketball

Host Paul Robeson got 12 points and 11 rebounds from Shakyra Thomas in a 45-42 Public League win over Parkway West, the first loss of the season for the Hoyas (4-1).

The Huskies (6-2, 4-1) also got 12 points from Tiffany Then. Parkway West was led by Tanisha Chambers, who scored 18 points.

Communications Tech rolled over visiting World Communications, 63-8, as Khadijah Gardner scored 28 points and Shalae Davenport had 17 steals. The 5-foot-7 senior guard now has 82 steals in four years.

Dayona McNeil had 24 points and 14 steals for host Science Leadership Academy in a 34-7 win over Parkway Northwest.

The Rockets (2-4) handily despite making just 1 of 14 free-throw attempts.

Freire Charter placed four starters in double figures, led by Latisha Johnson's 15 points, in a 68-40 win over visiting Ben Franklin.

Tierra Andrews, Ashley Hargraves and Janae Scott all scored 12 points for Germantown in a 53-11 win over visiting Esperanza.

Emily Leon scored 11 of her 19 points in the second half for host Mastbaum in a 44-28 win over Martin Luther King.

Sherrie Satchell had 12 rebounds and five blocked shots for Simon Gratz in a 60-41 win over visiting Mastery Charter.

The Bulldogs (6-0) also got 19 points from Bianca Anderson and 16 from Fadeema Anderson.

Northeast got 14 points apiece from Taylor Jones and Brittnay Lambert in a 45-27 win at Fels.

Host Central opened with a 26-5 lead and finished with a 52-23 win over Palumbo. Isabella Ross scored nine of her game-high 16 points during that stretch.

Destiny Russell's 25 points, 14 steals, and 13 rebounds carried host Imhotep Charter past Swenson, 56-28.

Prep Charter beat visiting Rhodes, 87-29, for coach Paul Rieser's 100th win at the school. Kahleah Copper led the way with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Catherine Myers scored 26 points and made a three-point play with 35 seconds left to lift Bok to a 41-35 win at Math, Civics, and Sciences.

Betty Teachey scored a season-high 28 points for host Strawberry Mansion in a 68-24 win over Philadelphia Academy Charter.

The junior guard scored 15 in the first quarter, helping the Knights to a 19-8 lead.

Shanika McCloud scored a career-high 23 points and Waynesha Griffin also added 23 for host Frankford in its 60-40 win over Lincoln.

McCloud also had 15 rebounds for the Pioneers (8-2, 6-1).

Girls High held host Washington scoreless in the third quarter of a 45-14 win. Tanesha Sutton's 16 points topped all scorers.

Dianna Murhead-Dwyer's 11 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists helped host Overbrook top Dobbins, 29-24.

Franklin Learning Center got a big fourth quarter from Ashley Fulton in a 41-30 win at Southern. Fulton scored 10 of her game-high 16 points during a 13-6 run to close out the game.

Onairys Medina had 10 points, 32 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots for Edison in a 45-17 win at Franklin Towne Charter.

Bodine topped host Mariana Bracetti, 55-45, behind Sherie Rucker's 20 points.

Mykea Hall scored 21 points for University City in a 50-31 win at West Philadelphia.

Catholic. Eirann Anastasi's 18 points helped St. Hubert to a 60-22 win at Little Flower.

Central. Caroline Price hit a jump shot at the buzzer to give Haverford High a 48-47 win at Springfield (Delaware County).

Bicentennial. Emily Homan scored 27 points to become Delco Christian's all-time leading scorer in a 63-28 win over visiting Morrisville. Homan now has 1,291 career points, eclipsing the school record of 1,290 held by Chala Holland, who later played at Northwestern University.

Suburban One Continental. Courtney McManus scored 18 points to lead Central Bucks East to a 51-34 win at Souderton.

Tri-County. Nicole Pupillo scored 29 points and Lindsay Manferdini added 23 for host Perkiomen School in a 60-50 win over West-Mont Christian. Nicole Davis had a career-high 38 points for the Wings. Pupillo had nine first-quarter points during a 19-10 run.

Mercy Vocational remained unbeaten (14-1, 8-0) in the league, getting 10 points from Dominique Dixon, in a 32-24 win over visiting Woodlynde.

Nonleague. Jixa Rodriguez's 12 points led host Pennsylvania School for the Deaf past Katzenbach (N.J.), 31-18.
