Williams, Imhotep race into semifinals
SLATINGTON, Pa. - Tamara Bunch raised her hands above her head as she watched her son, David Williams, rush into the far end zone.

SLATINGTON, Pa. - Tamara Bunch raised her hands above her head as she watched her son, David Williams, rush into the far end zone.
"Touchdown, that's right," Bunch said, loud enough that Williams said he could hear it on the field. "You know how we do."
Williams, the area's top running back, rushed for four touchdowns Saturday afternoon to lead Imhotep Charter to a 54-7 win over Pen Argyl in a PIAA Class AA state quarterfinal at Northern Lehigh.
The win capped a busy week for Williams and his mother, as they were visited by four college coaches hoping to receive his commitment.
Penn State, Miami, and Arizona State visited Imhotep's North Philadelphia campus, just a few blocks from Williams' home.
South Carolina assistant G.A. Mangus attended Saturday's win and watched most of the second half with Bunch.
Bunch said it was the first time that she had talked to a college coach at a game. She asked Mangus about the Gamecocks' organization, their graduation rate, and the number of running backs on the roster.
Williams said he didn't let his recruitment get in the way, as he has been focused on the playoffs.
"I just try to zone it out and forget about it," Williams said.
With Imhotep leading by 33 points late in the third quarter, Panthers coach Albie Crosby pulled Williams from the game. The senior finished with 190 yards on 14 carries.
On his second touchdown, Williams rushed almost untouched down the right side for a 79-yard score.
With 4.6 seconds left in the first half, quarterback Andre Dreuitt faked a pass before dishing a delayed handoff to Williams for a 7-yard touchdown.
Williams also delivered a crushing block to a Pen Argyl defender to make way for Eerin Young's touchdown in the third quarter.
In the semifinals, Imhotep will face Wyomissing at 1 p.m. Saturday at Germantown's Johnston Memorial Stadium.
Williams said he would make his college decision on Jan. 4 at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Carson, Calif.
"I'm just blessed to have a good child," Bunch said. "He could have gone any other way, but he chose to stay on the straight and narrow."
