Sat. Pa. wrestling roundup: OJR takes Bealer tournament

Owen J. Roberts put a stranglehold on the middleweight classes Saturday en route to topping host Boyertown, 37-16, in the final of the Brian Bealer Memorial Duals.

Dominick Petrucelli opened the bout with a 13-1 major decision over Boyertown's Ty Miller at 132 pounds. Peter Fratantoni scored a 4-3 decision in double overtime at 152 pounds. Owen J. Roberts won each class from 132 to 182.

At heavyweight, Boyertown's Jordan Wood scored an 8-2 decision over Brad Trego.

Earlier in the afternoon, Boyertown pulled out a 37-22 win over Bethlehem Liberty. Lucas Miller, Ty Miller, and Dante Colonna helped seal the win with three consecutive pins.

Lucas Miller scored a 5:02 pin at 106 pounds, Ty Miller needed 1:59 to pin at 132, and Colonna landed a pin in 3:20.

Owen J. Roberts rolled past Council Rock North, 63-8, earlier. Aston White won by technical fall at 106 pounds.

Walsh Ironman. Norristown's Brett Harner scored a 5-1 decision over Blair Academy's Addison Knepshield to finish third at 182 pounds at Walsh Jesuit in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

L.J. Barlow of the Haverford School finished eighth at 195 pounds.

Nazareth Invitational. Danny Martoccio of Council Rock South cruised to a first-place finish at 120 pounds. The junior scored a 3-1 decision in the final and an 11-second pin in the semis.

Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic. Lower Merion's Elias Zimmer used a razor-thin margin to capture first place in the tournament's 220-pound bracket. He scored a 3-2 decision over Dylan Herb of Shippensburg to capture the title.

Also for the Aces, Rob Hazard added a fourth-place finish at 113 pounds, Mason Wilson finished fifth at 182, and Scott Chieu placed fifth at 132.

Downingtown West's Michael Murta finished fourth at 126 pounds. He fell to Cumberland Valley's Kevin Novick on a 6-0 decision. Also for West, Tristan Reynolds finished in sixth place at 132 pounds, Pete Rhoads was fourth at 170, and Covey Austin placed fifth at 285.
