Wed. Pa. boys' and girls' roundup: Quakertown gets past Souderton

The tie was broken under Criteria H, which is the team with the most first points. Quakertown won the tiebreaker, 10-8.

Quakertown's Lucas Garges pulled out a 7-6 decision over Phillip Stolfi at 160 pounds, and Tyler Seislove pinned James Diehl in 3 minutes, 49 seconds.

Suburban One National. Council Rock North won the final four matches to beat visiting Council Rock South, 32-27.

Sean Yoder started the string with a decision at 138, and John Dutrow and Tyler Kelly each won by fall. Chris Davis won a decision at 160 in the final.

Central League. Donte McCarthy won a 15-0 decision at 113 pounds as Ridley won at Haverford High, 45-27. Dan Sauselin claimed a 20-7 decision at 156.

John Dambro pinned at 152 pounds and Matt Godwin won decisively at 170 in Garnet Valley's 44-24 win at Strath Haven.

Kyle Wadell and Alex Kim each won in the low weights as Radnor prevailed, 40-30, at Lower Merion.

Catholic League. John Pozza won a tough match, 9-8, at 152 pounds as Roman Catholic won, 42-27, at Archbishop Wood.

Boys' Basketball

Senior forward Jeremiah Worthem scored his 1,000th career point as Math, Civics and Sciences rolled over visiting World Communications, 86-38, in a nonleague game.

Worthem reached the milestone early in the fourth quarter on a driving layup through the middle. He finished with a game-high 22 points and 18 rebounds. Worthem is ticketed for Robert Morris.

Sophomore small forward Chase Kumor scored nine of his 14 points in the fourth quarter as Penn Charter rallied in the second half for a 51-40 win over visiting Hill School.

Father Judge junior forward Malik Robinson scored 19 points and had six rebounds in a 70-45 win at rival Lincoln.

Jarrod McLaurin and Malachi Thompson each scored 16 points, leading four Palmer players in double figures, in a 70-66 win at West Catholic. Anwar Epps scored 22 for West Catholic.

Sparked by senior guard Jimmy Gordon, Malvern Prep downed visiting Mariana Bracetti, 57-36. Gordon had a game-high 18 points, along with six rebounds and four steals.

Senior center Don Kinslow's 29 points led a Morrisville outpouring in a 90-64 win over visiting Friends Select. Ben Holl scored 33 points for Friends Select.

Girls' Basketball

Vicky Tumasz hit a pair of three-pointers late in the third quarter to put North Penn ahead for good in a 36-35 nonleague win at Downingtown West.

DeAnna Mayza's 26 points led Hill School to a 50-38 win at Friends' Central.
