Joyce's pin of Tennent's Josh Troy was one of eight Falcons victories of the lightweight classes between 106 and 160 pounds. Dominic Martocio landed a pin in 1:21 at 113 pounds, Luke Kowal scored a decision at 152 pounds and 160-pounder Alex Cwenar had a pin in 4:51.
Central. Haverford High's Michael Vasiliou and Pete Moore captured consecutive pins to help the Fords secure a 48-33 win over Lower Merion.
Vasiliou scored his pin in 4:57 at 106 pounds and Moore (113 pounds) needed 4:52.
David Bertone's 40-second pin at 285 pounds highlighted Garnet Valley's 39-30 win over Penncrest.
The Jaguars won all three matches from 152 pounds to 170 pounds, including John Dambro's pin in 1:27 at 170 pounds.
Pioneer. Dylan Wertz scored a 5-1 decision at 120 pounds to help Boyertown turn away Pottstown, 41-21. Gregg Harvey added a 6-0 decision at 152 pounds and Jordan Wood picked up a 61-second pin at heavyweight.
Catholic. Anthony Gordon needed just 39 seconds to score a pin at 132 pounds as Bishop McDevitt rolled to a 54-13 win over Conwell-Egan. Brandon Coco added a pin 285 pounds.
Public. Heavyweight Joshua Gordon scored a pin as host Central rolled over Washington, 43-25.
Gordon needed 4:48 to take down Stephane Eugene.
Basketball
Abington Friends used Jordan Greene's 14 points and his late heroics to put away visiting Academy of the New Church, 59-57, in a Friends Schools League game.
The junior guard hit a three pointer with 3 seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime, before hitting another three at the overtime buzzer to force a second extra period. Late in the second overtime, Greene knocked down a pair of free throws to seal the win.
Nonleague. Zach Muredda's 19 points helped Pennridge down Christopher Dock, 60-55. Jared Armstrong had 27 points and four assists to lead Dock.
Sophomore forward Sam Lindgren scored eight of his 13 points in the third quarter as Germantown Academy rallied past visiting Pennington, 65-61.
Ja'Quan Newtown scored 10 of his game-high 27 points in the second quarter as Neumann-Goretti rolled past Lansdale Catholic, 78-52.
Jelania Mauge and L.J. Crenshaw controlled the low post as Paul Robeson edged host University City, 59-53.
Mauge, a 6-foot-2 freshman, grabbed eight rebounds and scored 10 points. The 6-1 senior Crenshaw scored nine points with his 11 rebounds.
Tommy Rush and Pat Smith scored 15 points each as visiting Archbishop Wood knocked off Springside Chestnut Hill. 48-40. Rush, a junior guard, scored eight points in the fourth quarter.
Tyrell Long's eight rebounds and 29 points lifted Bishop McDevitt over visiting Ben Franklin, 62-54.
