Morrison lifts Villa Joseph Marie over St. Hubert

Morrison led the Jems with 14 points, six of which came in the fourth quarter. Colleen Coleman added 10 points.

Charlotte Kucowski scored a team-high 15 points for St. Hubert.

In other nonleague girls' basketball action:

Kathleen Fitzpatrick scored a game-high 26 points for Notre Dame as the Irish defeated Villa Maria in overtime, 46-41. Fitzpatrick hit one of her four three-pointers as the buzzer sounded at the end of regulation to tie the game up at 37.

Central League. Alex Poplawski contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds for Springfield (D) in a 47-43 victory over Marple Newtown.

Boys' Basketball

Jaleel Parlin made a game-winning layup with 11 seconds left in overtime to lift West Philadelphia over Lamberton, 54-52, at the Walter D. Palmer Classic. Parlin led West Philadelphia with 20 points to help the Speedboys break a five-game losing streak.

Nonleague. Jason and Chas McCormick combined for 30 points as W.C. Henderson downed Oxford, 69-40.

Carl Garner tallied 31 points and seven rebounds as Bishop McDevitt beat Chichester, 79-71. Garner scored 13 of his points in the second quarter.

Indoor Track and Field

Niager Mathis of Swenson finished the 60-meter dash in 7.05 seconds for a meet record at Track and Field Coaches Association of Greater Philadelphia at Lehigh University.
