Pa. Boys: Tues. Pa. boys: Penncrest edges Wissahickon

A junior midfielder, Protesto showed why he is one of the region's top faceoff players as he won 13 of his 15.

Casey Brown sealed the win with eight saves, and Zach Kruzel, Will Manganiello, and Ethan Trust scored once each. Brooks Melvin and Tommy Monaghan had two goals each for visiting Wissahickon.

Bishop Shanahan 8, Lower Merion 5 - John Mehok's three goals led the No. 13 Eagles past 20th-seeded Lower Merion. Sam Montgomery and Dylan Alderman added two goals each.

Central Bucks South 10, Kennett 4 - Ty Strayline scored once and assisted on four others to lift 17th-seeded C.B. South over No. 16 Kennett. Brendan McGarth added three assists and one goal.

Ridley 18, Methacton 4 - Dalton George and Kelton Heverly had four goals each as No. 7 Ridley cruised past the 26th-seeded Warriors.

West Chester Henderson 5, Hatboro-Horsham 3 - Owen Evans scored twice and Chase Heisman turned away 18 shots to propel the 22d-seeded Warriors at No. 11 Hatboro-Horsham.

Spencer Rymiszewski added a goal and two assists, and Cory Daszkiewicz won five faceoffs for Henderson.

Downingtown West 8, Spring-Ford 4 - Evan Wolf and Tyler Keen each had two goals and two assists as the 18th-seeded Whippets knocked off No. 15 Spring-Ford.

Central Bucks East 17, Owen J. Roberts 8 - Matt Schmidt scored six times and the 12th-seeded Patriots cruised past No. 21 Owen J. Roberts.

Friends Schools. Ian Walsh recorded six saves to seal host Shipley's 34th straight league win, a 19-7 rout of Moorestown Friends in the league semifinals.

Andrew Wofford, a senior attack, scored six goals and assisted on one.

The Gators have won four straight league titles.

Baseball

Pat Valentine threw fewer than 60 pitches to complete a five-inning perfect game, and Haverford School blanked visiting Penn Charter, 10-0, in the Inter-Ac League game.

Steve Fitzgerald added a two-run homer, and Kev McGowan had three RBIs.

Emmett Harkins allowed no runs and scattered two hits to help visiting Germantown Academy knock off Episcopal Academy, 6-2. Ryan Calhoun hit a three-run triple in the seventh to put the Patriots up by four.

Public. Chris Hartman hit a solo homer as Franklin Towne Charter downed visiting Martin Luther King, 15-0, in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs. Tyler Keller capped the game with an RBI single in the fourth.

Senior first baseman Jack Christmas went 3 for 3 and drove in four runs to highlight host Masterman's 17-2 win over Rush in Class A.
