La Salle's Matt Rambo was surrounded.

There was a St. Joseph's Prep defender in front of him. There was another behind him. Another to his left, and another to his right.

The senior attack simply drove through the tight defense to score the game's final goal Wednesday night and seal La Salle's 18th Catholic League boys' lacrosse title with an 11-6 win at Plymouth Whitemarsh.

"He kept twirling and running and crashing into players until he fired it into the empty net," La Salle coach Bill Leahy said. "It was such an impressive performance."

Rambo finished with a game-high four goals and added two assists. His last goal came with four minutes left.

Jeff Cimbalista added three goals and two assists. Sean Coleman had two goals and four assists. Colin MacDougal secured the win with nine saves.

Leahy credited the Explorers' long-term success to the "great kids, excellent administration support," and his assistant coaches.

"I'm just the guy that sits at the top," he said.
