Pa. Girls: Thurs. Pa. girls: St. Hubert prevails

After 95 minutes, all it took was a simple through ball. St. Hubert senior Biff Jones led freshman Kyley Bowers on a breakaway and Bowers didn't miss, netting the winning goal in double overtime to lead her team to a 2-1 win at Little Flower in Catholic League girls' soccer Thursday.

Jones scored the equalizer in the 51st minute after Little Flower had led at halftime. St. Hubert freshman Brianna Pudlo made nine saves in her first career varsity start.

In another close Catholic League game, Cardinal O'Hara tied Archbishop Wood, 1-1, at home. Jess Digiacomo scored the tying goal for O'Hara on a redirection with 20 seconds left in regulation. O'Hara goalkeeper Carrie Zamonski had 15 saves.

Catholic Academies. Villa Joseph Marie won, 3-0, at Mount St. Joseph. Murphy Agnew scored two goals.

Central. Marple Newtown won, 1-0, at Harriton behind a goal in the 24th minute by sophomore Megan Lynch.

Megan Doherty and Rachel Glenn scored goals to lead Garnet Valley to a 2-0 home win against Penncrest.

Field Hockey

Downingtown West stayed undefeated with a 9-0 home win against Coatesville. Nikki Freeman and Taylor Johnson each scored three goals.

The Whippets are 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Ches-Mont League National Conference.

In the Ches-Mont American, Great Valley won, 3-0, at Oxford. Krissy Neary posted a seven-save shutout.

Central. Lydia Sydnor scored three goals to lead Radnor to a 4-1 win at Upper Darby.

Garnet Valley won, 9-0, at home against Penncrest. Seven Jaguars scored goals.

Bicentennial. Hannah Zubyk scored four goals to lead Delco Christian to a 7-0 win at Jenkintown. Zubyk had scored three goals in Delco's 5-0 win against Morrisville on Tuesday.

Christopher Dock improved to 4-0 in the league with a 9-0 win at Morrisville. Ali Balmer and Jill Bolton each scored two goals.
