Pa. Girls: Tues. Pa. girls: Neshaminy's Schafer rings up triple-double

Megan Schafer earned an unusual triple-double on Tuesday night. The senior forward scored 18 points, dished out 10 assists, and recorded 13 steals in Neshaminy's 68-25 home win over Bensalem in a Suburban One National girls' basketball game.

Schafer was Neshaminy's second-highest scorer, with Sarah Olizeira leading the charge with 19 points. Olizeira, also a senior forward, pulled down 10 rebounds as well.

Neshaminy raced to a big lead early, leading by 22-2 after one quarter.

In another Suburban One National game, Taylor Dillon's game-high 24 points helped Council Rock South to a 74-46 victory over visiting Truman. Dillon scored 18 of her points in the first half. The senior guard also added five steals.

Suburban One American. Upper Moreland had three scorers in double digits in a 50-42 downing of host Upper Merion. Lindsey Walder scored a team-high 16 points. Karli Lynch and Maddy Pisut contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively. Upper Merion's Regie Robinson led all players with 22.

Suburban One Continental. Vicky Tumasz went on a scoring spree in the second half as North Penn beat visiting Central Bucks South, 44-25. Tumasz had 10 of her 12 points after halftime. Tumasz also had four steals. Teammate Erin Maher added eight points and six blocked shots.

Central League. Myonie Williamson led all scorers with 21 points and helped Radnor slip past visiting Upper Darby, 51-43. All but one of Williamson's points came before the fourth quarter.

Freshman Nicole Massimino scored seven of her nine points in the fourth and helped the Red Raiders stave off a late Upper Darby rally.

Inter-Ac. Springside Chestnut Hill's Lindsay Hiner scored all of her points from behind the arc in a 51-43 road victory over Baldwin. Hiner went 5 for 5 from three-point range for 15 points. Julia Schumacher and Chloe Burns each contributed 11 points for the Blue Devils.

Catholic Academies. Molly Namiotka scored a game-high 18 points and pulled down six boards in Villa Maria's 35-25 home triumph over Mount St. Joseph. Jackie Carlin and Katie Mooney each grabbed eight rebounds for the Hurricanes.

Eleven St. Basil players scored in a 62-23 victory at Nazareth Academy. Kalee Fuegel scored a game-high 14 points, and Karen Lapkiewiecz totaled nine points, nine rebounds, and six steals.

Tina DiGiacomo and Mariah Quinn each scored 12 points as Merion Mercy downed visiting Sacred Heart, 59-28. DiGiacomo scored six points in each half and went 4 for 4 from the foul line. Quinn scored 10 in the first half.

Pioneer Athletic Conference. Senior center Jenna Carroll made her presence felt in Methacton's 43-31 victory over host Perkiomen Valley.

Carroll scored 12 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and blocked 8 shots. Kelly Glatthorn added 12 points for Methacton.

Ches-Mont American. Nine of Jess Hussey's 20 points came in the fourth quarter, when Kennett began to pull away en route to a 37-24 win over host Sun Valley.

Kate Lannon led Sun Valley with 10 points.

Nonleague. Freshman guards Bridget Miller and Deja Dupree led Hallahan as the Mouseketeers topped visiting Mastbaum, 52-29. Dupree scored 15 points, and Miller added 13.

Penn Charter used accurate free-throw shooting to edge host Hun School, 65-59. The Quakers went 13 for 13 from the line in the fourth quarter. Hannah Fox led Penn Charter with 21 points and went 6 for 6 from the line in the final quarter.
