HARRISBURG - Neshaminy running back D'Andre Pollard was named Player of the Year and St. Joseph's Prep's Gabe Infante was selected Coach of the Year in Class AAAA as part of the Pennsylvania Football Writers' All-State Football Team that was announced Wednesday.

The 5-foot-7, 170-pound Pollard rushed for a staggering 2,929 yards for the District 1-champion Redskins. A junior, he averaged almost 9 yards per carry and scored 39 touchdowns in 15 games.

In his fourth season at the Prep, Infante guided the Hawks (12-3) through a brutal regular season in which they lost three games, but they went on to win the state championship by defeating Pittsburgh Central Catholic.

In Class AA, South Fayette quarterback Brett Brumbaugh was named player of the year, and South Fayette's Joe Rossi was tabbed coach of the year.

All-state teams for Classes AAA and A are scheduled to be released Thursday.
