Pa. Girls: Ridley girls win in triple OT

Mary Kate Rumbaugh came up big at the end of regulation for the Ridley girls' basketball team. But she had something even better in store for the closing moments of triple overtime.

Rumbaugh's drive and kick to Jaleesa Rodriguez for a baseline layup at the buzzer gave Ridley a 73-71 win over Penn Wood in the round-robin Ridley Christmas Tournament.

Rumbaugh, a senior, scored a career-high 34 points. She had 24 points in the fourth quarter and overtimes, including two free throws to force extra time.

Bree Mulhern scored 14, and Rodriguez finished with 12. Indiah Cauley led Penn Wood with 21.

George W. Snear. MVP Alex Louin scored 13 points and had seven rebounds and three assists to guide Mount St. Joseph to a 53-25 title-game victory over Norristown at the Fellowship House in Conshohocken. Carly Monzo added 14 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Cardinal Classic. Upper Dublin fended off a fourth-quarter rally to hold off Abington, 49-45, and capture the title of its own tournament. Regan Gallagher, the MVP, had nine points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks.

Marple Newtown. Bishop Shanahan used a big third quarter to race past Marple Newtown, 66-36, and claim the title. Nikki Juliana scored 13 and Ciara Forde added 10.

Preferred Sportswear. Kat Lannon scored 11 points and earned an MVP nod as Sun Valley downed host Interboro, 42-25, for the title.

Boardwalk Classic Frank McAlarnen Bracket. Myonie Williamson scored 19 of her 26 in the first half, and Radnor cruised by Germantown Friends, 44-33, in the title game at the Wildwoods Convention Center.

Queen Anne's. Kalee Fuegel snagged MVP honors, and St. Basil improved to 9-0 with a 48-37 defeat of Thomas Stone (Md.) in the title game at Queen Anne's. Fuegel had seven points and seven steals. Molly Greenberg scored eight points and had eight assists.

Queen of Palms. Shalina Miller had 15 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks as Bonner-Prendergast beat St. Petersburg (Fla.), 62-56, in the consolation semifinals in Fort Myers. Alyssa Monaghan had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Princess Clelemons picked up eight points and 10 rebounds.

Boyertown Bear Classic. Abby Kapp scored 13 points and Boyertown took advantage of first-half turnovers to ease past Downingtown East, 51-26.

Oxford Tournament. Maddie Thornton scored eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter to help Chichester close out a 42-31 win over Wilmington Charter in the championship.

Unionville Tournament. Courtney Webster scored 17 points and Central Bucks West topped Haverford High, 35-23, in the showcase event.
