Pa. Boys: Sat. Pa. boys: McFadden lifts Lower Merion

Justin McFadden poured in a game-high 27 points as Lower Merion kept the Central League boys' basketball race close with a 65-63 victory over visiting Upper Darby.

JaQuan Johnson and Steve Pendleton each added 11 points. McFadden, a senior headed to Binghamton, sealed the win with two foul shots to give the Aces a five-point lead with 25 seconds left.

Quadir Rice led the Royals with 16 points, and Demetrius Timmons scored 15.

Through seven games, the first- and fifth-place teams in the league are separated by just one game.

Public A. Lincoln Kpokuyou scored all six of his points in the fourth quarter and played shut-down defense to help Constitution down Imhotep Charter, 63-53. In four days, the Patriots have topped Martin Luther King, Math, Civics & Sciences, and Imhotep.

Suburban One. Aaron Burton's fourth straight double-double powered Cheltenham past host Wissahickon, 73-68. The senior guard scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Mid-Atlantic Prep. John Carroll scored 24 points and James Fives added 13, but it was not enough as Hill School fell at Hun School, 51-50.

Pioneer. Zach Jenkins scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Methacton over visiting Pottsgrove, 58-41.

Owen J. Roberts used Matt Crider's 33 points and Ben Condello's 11 to top visiting Upper Perkiomen, 71-63.

Nonleague. Senior guard Sean O'Brien scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half, and Penn Charter eased past visiting Central, 61-48. Senior guard Demetrius Isaac added 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 11 points.

Matt Margolis scored 13 of his 19 points in the second half to lift host Council Rock North over Glen Mills, 52-48.

Quadire Truesdale put in seven of his nine points in the fourth quarter, and Frankford held off visiting Reading, 46-39.

Andre Mitchell's 20 points led Plymouth Whitemarsh past North Penn, 78-66. Jimmy Murray added 19 points and T.J. Minetola scored 13 for PW.

Mike Anthony's 22 points and Cole Luzins' 21 were not enough for Phoenixville as the Phantoms fell at Central Dauphin, 66-45.

Tyrell Sturdivant grabbed 12 rebounds and Chester held off visiting Harrisburg, 54-50. The senior forward bound for Stony Brook finished with a game-high 17 points. Mahir Johnson added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Gabe Adesina also had 10 rebounds.

Jack Doherty's 17 points led host Malvern Prep past neighboring rival Devon Prep, 59-46. Joey Fitzpatrick chipped in with 14 points, and Chris Anderson added 11.
