The Baldwin lacrosse team entered Tuesday afternoon's game seeking revenge. Thanks to Ali Thaler, that is exactly what happened, as the host Bears edged Germantown Academy, 14-13, in an Inter-Ac League contest.

The game was knotted at 13 with less than a minute left when the Patriots goalie tried to secure a loose ball. She was checked and the ball came to Thaler, who buried a shot into an empty net with 47 seconds left. It was the star junior's sixth goal of the game. Ive Ibrahim Gonzalez added five goals.

Earlier in the season, Germantown Academy handled Baldwin, 16-9, in a game in which Thaler scored just twice.

Betsy Prezioso paced the Patriots with nine goals Tuesday.

In other Inter-Ac action:

Hannah Fox and Julia Fleming each netted two goals and two assists as Penn Charter won, 10-9, at Notre Dame in overtime. Maddie Mahoney made 10 saves to earn the win.

Agnes Irwin's Hannah Keating scored five goals and Hailey Andress made six stops as the Owls won, 8-6, at Springside Chestnut Hill.

Catholic Academies. Caroline Mackrides and Megan Parsons scored two goals apiece to lead host Villa Maria past Gwynedd Mercy, 8-5.

Villa Joseph Marie routed visiting Sacred Heart, 20-2. Kristin Fitzgerald finished with nine goals, and Lydia Mahony added three.

Friends Schools. Taylor Campellone found twine four times and Anna Picciano chipped in with three goals to move host George School past Abington Friends, 15-6.

Germantown Friends scored 12 goals in the first half en route to a 16-5 win over visiting Shipley. University of Cincinnati recruit Schuyler Nissen powered the Tigers with six goals, and Dana Schulman made six saves.

Alaina Shivers finished with six goals and Noelle Smith helped with four to lead Moorestown Friends to an 18-11 win at Academy of the New Church.

Pioneer. Methacton's Sarah Hughes netted seven goals as the visiting Warriors won, 12-7, over Pottstown.

Catholic. Margaret Filipelli, Meghan Matey, and Isabelle Schmitt each recorded a hat trick as Archbishop Carroll eased past host Bonner-Prendergast, 22-2.

Central. Katie Ryan of Springfield (Delco) scored five goals and Emily Santana helped with four goals and two assists as the Cougars turned back visiting Radnor, 11-7.

Suburban One American. Lauren Irvine netted five goals, including her 100th career score, to power Wissahickon in a 20-2 win at Norristown.

Del-Val. Interboro built a five-goal lead by halftime en route to a 17-6 win at Academy Park. The Buccaneers were paced by six goals from Sami Barnett.

Softball

Logan Needham led off the game with a triple that sparked a three-run first inning as Avon Grove won, 7-1, at Unionville in a nonleague game.

Maggie Balint dominated from the circle, scattering two hits and striking out 13.

In other nonleague play, Emily Collier went 3 for 4, drove in five runs, and scored three times as Calvary Christian doubled up host Delco Christian, 14-7. Lexi Howzen went 2 for 5 and knocked in two runs.
