Pa. Boys: Tues. Pa. boys: Holy Ghost wraps up division

The Firebirds downed New Hope-Solebury, 5-2, Tuesday to win their second consecutive crown and 10th title in 11 years. Holy Ghost Prep has won 29 Bicentennial championships since 1972.

Tim Brennan struck out eight and allowed five hits in a complete game. Ryan Malloy doubled, and Joe Wnuk had a triple.

The Firebirds, who are the defending Class AAA district champions, are 11-0 in the league and 12-3 overall.

Del-Val. Freshman lefthander Taylor Moors struck out seven and allowed two earned runs in Academy Park's 5-4 win over visiting Glen Mills.

Mike Brodzinski had three hits and drove in three runs.

Inter-Ac. Ross Mintzer pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Springside Chestnut Hill to a 2-0 win at Episcopal Academy.

Craig Alleyene went 2 for 3 with two doubles.

Catholic Red. Matt De Truex went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, and Roman Catholic knocked off visiting La Salle, 9-7. Jonathan Stoffere went 3 for 3 and scored three runs.

Josh Lopez hit a pair of doubles and drove in four runs to pace Archbishop Ryan to a 12-8 victory over visiting St. Joseph's Prep. Tom Derer had three hits and scored three runs.

Cardinal O'Hara's Will Latcham faced the minimum number of batters in a one-hit shutout as Cardinal O'Hara defeated visiting Father Judge, 5-0. Latcham struck out 12.

Ryan Calhoun homered and drove in four runs, and Germantown Academy beat host Haverford School, 12-6. John Aiello went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs.

Suburban One American. Will Kane had two hits and reached base in all three of his at-bats in host Plymouth Whitemarsh's 3-1 defeat of Norristown.

Zach Metz pitched strong innings, and Ryan Bischoff worked a scoreless seventh for the save.

Ches-Mont American. Will Reitman went 3 for 4 with a double, home run, and five RBIs to carry West Chester Henderson past host West Chester Rustin, 7-0.

Lacrosse

Malvern Prep remained unbeaten and clinched at least a share of the Inter-Ac League title with a 15-5 win at Episcopal Academy. Kyle Anderson scored six goals, and Tripp Traynor added three.

Grant Ament and Connor Black scored three goals apiece, and host Haverford School downed Springside Chestnut Hill, 14-4.

Pierce Kraft and Luke Stansfield each had two goals to lead host Germantown Academy over Penn Charter, 11-6.

Ches-Mont National. Nick Meyers scored four times, and West Chester East upended Downingtown West, 10-7.

Central. Penncrest completed an unbeaten, championship league season by winning at Conestoga, 11-9.

Nolan Fox and Lou Harrison each scored three times, and Ridley bested visiting Lower Merion, 9-6.

Public. Connor McMonagle's four goals led Washington to a 13-2 win at Del-Val Charter. Matt Woods added three goals.

Nonleague. Chris Hummell pumped in five goals, and Interboro held off visiting Bonner-Prendergast, 10-7.
