La Salle's Nick Dermo had two hits and scored three runs Sunday, but his biggest contribution might have required him to just stand still in a Catholic League first-round playoff game against Conwell-Egan.
Dermo was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fifth inning to force in the go-ahead run. La Salle went on to post a six-run rally in the following inning and the Explorers earned a 9-2 home win.
Ryan Coonahan had a double and a triple for La Salle.
La Salle will play Roman Catholic Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
In other Catholic League playoff action:
Nicky D'Amore drove in a pair of runs in the first inning with a base hit and Pat Doudican made them stand in Neumann-Goretti's 4-0 win against visiting Archbishop Carroll.
Doudican gave up two hits and struck out five over six shutout innings.
O'Hara advanced with a 7-2 home win against Bonner-Prendergast behind Dan Dwyer, who had two hits and an RBI.
Neumann-Goretti will play Cardinal O'Hara in the quarterfinals Tuesday.
Boys' Lacrosse
District 1 released the bracket for the Class AAAA playoffs Sunday and Penncrest was the top seed.
Penncrest, second-seeded Bishop Shanahan and third-seeded Radnor are idle for Tuesday's first round.
Avon Grove, which won the district last year, is the fifth seed and will host 28th-seeded Plymouth Whitemarsh in the first round.

Girls' Lacrosse
Garnet Valley took the top seed in the girls' bracket in the District 1 Class AAAA tournament.
Garnet Valley will open at home against Central Bucks East, the 32d seed, in the first round, which takes place Tuesday.
Last year's champion, Harriton, hosts 28th-seeded Gwynedd Mercy in the first round.
