Schedule set for local schools in PIAA playoffs
St. Joseph's Prep plays Pennsbury at Northeast site, while Wood travels to Chambersburg to play Somerset.
IT'S official; Saturday will be packed with PIAA playoff football.
In the AAAA semifinal, St. Joseph's Prep stays in town at 1 p.m. to "host" top-seeded Pennsbury from District 1 at Charles Martin Memorial Field in the Northeast. In AAA semifinal action, Archbishop Wood treks to Chambersburg High to face District 5 No. 1-seeded Somerset at 1 p.m.
Last season, the St. Joseph's Prep Hawks beat the team from Neshaminy, 37-21, in the Northeast, while Wood devoured Berwick, 42-14, at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown. Each went on to win AAAA and AAA titles, respectively.
