Makenzie Mason got the Central Bucks West girls' basketball team going.

Nicole Munger brought the Bucks back to within single digits.

Then Corrinne Godshall took over.

Mason. Munger. Godshall. It was as simple as that for C.B. West Friday night, as the trio combined for 60 points to propel the Bucks to a 77-61 victory over West Chester Rustin.

"It's hard to guard," Munger said. "You don't know who is going to do what when they can all score."

The Bucks were at home for the season opener, and things didn't start out the way they wanted, as the Golden Knights were hot early. Rustin had seven first-half three-pointers and, at one time in the second quarter, led by 12.

"It was rough looking at the scoreboard and seeing how far we were down, but we just kept battling," Mason said.

When the Bucks struggled, however, there Mason was. A dive for a loose ball here, drilling a jump shot there, the junior forward gave her team some life with hustle plays.

In the second quarter, it was Munger's turn.

The senior guard scored 11 second-period points, as she got to the basket when she needed, hit a pivotal three-pointer, and drained her free throws. As tough as it gets, the University of Michigan recruit threw her body all over the floor, and her high energy became infectious.

The final 16 minutes of the contest belonged to Godshall, as the senior forward commanded the boards, put back any missed shot on the offensive end, and even hit a pair of three-pointers.

She finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Munger added 19 points and seven boards, and Mason scored 15.

Noelle Powell led the Golden Knights with 26 points, adding five steals.

"We hold ourselves to high expectations," Godshall said. "We hold ourselves to a standard, not necessarily to win, but to play harder and be the best version of ourselves.

"If that happens, then we can be a really good team."
