Pa. Girls: Sat. Pa. girls: Downingtown West succeeds in OT

Megan Camden and Holly Schanck each sank two free throws in overtime, and the Downingtown West girls' basketball team outlasted Great Valley, 35-30, Saturday in the Great Valley Tipoff Shoot-Out.

Camden and Schanck finished with seven and five points, respectively. Hannah Supplee led the team with 11 points.

Stephanie Aker hit a game-tying three with less than 30 seconds left for Great Valley. Ashlyn Smith scored 11 of her game-high 14 points in the third quarter for the Patriots.

Also in the tournament, Devon Adams scored a game-high 11 points in Bishop Shanahan's 70-42 win over Chester. Ciara Forde added 10 points.

Hatters Tipoff Classic. Cassidy Quattro poured in 22 points to help Hatboro-Horsham top Nazareth Academy in overtime, 51-44, in the championship game. Quattro had four points in the extra period.

North Penn Maidens Coaches vs. Cancer. KT Armstrong put in 13 points to help Perkiomen Valley edge North Penn, 46-44, in the final. Jess Huber scored 12 points for North Penn, The Inquirer's No. 10-ranked team in the preseason in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Muhlenberg Tipoff. Jason Bieber recorded his 100th win as Boyertown beat Lebanon, 59-28, for the championship. Abby Kapp had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bears, who won the tournament for the third time in four years.

Archbishop Ryan Tipoff. Ashley Smink poured in 22 points and was 13 for 14 from the line as Archbishop Ryan took down St. Basil, 55-38.

Danielle Skedzielewski scored seven of her 11 points in the second quarter. Shannon Glenn also had 11 points.

William Tennent Invitational. Bionca Dunham totaled 10 points as Imhotep Charter defeated Lower Moreland, 45-40, for the championship.

Friends Select Invitational. Marissa Kubis collected nine points, five assists, and five rebounds to lead Franklin Towne Charter to a 36-29 win over Mercy Vocational in the final. Kubis was named tournament MVP.

Chichester Tipoff. Katie Fisher netted 19 points, collected six rebounds, and added four assists in Strath Haven's 59-41 win over host Chichester. Rachel Vresilovis finished with nine points and eight rebounds.

Cougar Classic. Denia Campbell led all players with 20 points as Solebury School beat Calvary Christian, 46-35, for the championship at George School. Campbell also had two assists, three steals, and a block.

Hill School Tournament. Marissa Pownall hit five field goals, including a three-pointer, en route to a game-high 15 points in Springside Chestnut Hill's 51-37 win over Perkiomen School in the final.

Lindsay Hiner added 13 points. Mo'ne Davis sank two three-pointers and scored 10 points.

Springfield Tipoff. Tournament MVP Jordan Bietzel registered 13 points as Central Bucks South beat Notre Dame, 43-24, in the final at Springfield (Delco). Emma Grady, who scored seven points, made the all-tournament team.

Calvary Baptist Tipoff. Shaylee McRoberts dropped in 14 points during Plumstead Christian's 35-21 win over Calvary Baptist for the championship. Ruth Thurston added 12 points. Mary Finkbeiner had 14 points for Calvary Baptist.

Upper Merion Tipoff. Caroline Corzel poured in 17 points to go along with six steals as Merion Mercy topped Upper Perkiomen, 57-35. Gabby Heinsinger also netted 17 points. Valez Jackson had nine points and six assists.

Interboro Tipoff. Tournament MVP Hanna Crowley had 13 points, and Ridley beat Interboro, 60-43, in the championship game.

Cross-Country

Pennsbury's Olivia Sargent took 19th place at the Nike cross-country national meet in Portland, Ore. Sargent finished the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 2 seconds.

Unionville, racing as the Chadds Ford Cross-Country Club, finished 17th as a team. Olivia Young led the way, taking 73d in 18:54.
