Carr's late basket gives Roman win

Nazeer Bostick added 14 points and six rebounds for Roman Catholic, The Inquirer's No. 2-ranked team in the preseason in Southeastern Pennsylvania. TreVaughn Wilkerson put in nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Levan Alston led all scoring with 29 points for No. 5 Haverford School. He sank six three-pointers. Lamar Stevens had 15 points.

Also in the All City Classic, Samir Doughty poured in 25 points and collected eight rebounds as Math, Civics and Sciences edged Life Center, 51-48. Doughty scored eight points in the fourth quarter. The Mighty Elephants were down 11 at halftime.

Harrisburg Tip Off. Malik Johnson poured in a game-high 34 points, and Penn Wood topped Harrisburg, 65-59, in the championship. Addison Scott deposited 15 points. Calvin Melton finished with 10 points.

Nonleague. Tyree Pickron totaled 19 points and eight rebounds to lead host Archbishop Wood to a 66-52 win over Frankford. Luke Connaghan dropped in 16 points and had snatched eight rebounds. Tom Funk added 14 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Girls' Basketball

Ciara Forde netted 22 points during Bishop Shanahan's 41-36 victory at the Archbishop Carroll Tip-off Classic. Forde was named team MVP for the game. Devon Adams added 13 points.

Also in the Archbishop Carroll Tip-off Classic, Bailey Greenberg scored a game-high 27 points and collected 16 rebounds, but Archbishop Wood lost, 59-56, to South Shore (N.Y.). Aubree Brown had 19 points.

Art Turner Memorial Tip-off. A.J. Timbers registered 17 points as No. 1 Neumann-Goretti took down Good Counsel (Md.), 67-47, in Fairfax, Va. Timbers was named player of the game. Sianni Martin scored 11 points.

Haverford Hall of Fame Tip-Off. Rosie O'Halloran put in 14 points during Haverford High's 42-26 victory over West Chester East. Mollie Reynolds followed with 11 points. Maura McCloskey led West Chester East with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Upper Merion Tip-off. Gabby Heinsinger scored 14 points as Merion Mercy defeated Upper Merion, 51-47. Valez Jackson had 13 points.
