Pa. Boys: Boys' Latin edges Frankford

Zafir Smith sealed the win with a block at the other end. Green led the Warriors with 14 points. Jelani Mauge and Umar Saaba each added 11 points.

Frankford's Quadire Truesdale scored a game-high 17 points.

In other Public League action:

Strawberry Mansion clinched its first victory of the season with a 77-61 win against Prep Charter.

Senior forward Quadir Norman led the Knights with 23 points and nine rebounds in their home opener. Freshman point guard Antwuan Butler and sophomore forward Johnny Eden both scored 14 points.

Micah Feredee's go-ahead three-pointer with one minute remaining in regulation lifted visiting Mastery South over Mastbaum, 46-35.

Jerrell Richardson's 19 points and seven blocks paced visiting Kensington over Edison, 55-45.

Alex Rodriguez knocked down two free throws with 18 seconds left to seal host Swenson's 72-67 triumph over Bodine. Jihad Warner netted 10 of his team-high 23 points in the third quarter for the hosts.

Maurice Walters scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in Bartram's 71-51 win at Sankofa Freedom.

Roxborough's Jovan Hammond converted four free throws in the final minute to preserve the Indians' 57-52 victory at World Communications.

Maurice Scott and Liam Shanahan each connected on a three-pointer in the final minute to propel host Masterman over Motivation, 57-43.

Catholic. Archbishop Carroll, ranked No. 1 in the preseason in Southeastern Pennsylvania by The Inquirer, rolled at Bonner-Prendergast, 72-38.

Ernest Aflakpui, David Beatty, and John Rigsby each scored 16 points for the Patriots.

Ches-Mont National. Bishop Shanahan's Drew Dolan hit three of the host Eagles' eight three-pointers in a 69-59 win against Downingtown East.

Downingtown West's Josh Warren netted eight of his team-high 17 points in the third quarter of the Whippet's 64-41 victory over visiting West Chester East.
