Pa. Girls: Dorshimer becomes Jenkintown's all-time scorer

First Emma Dorshimer took the record from Rachel Connolly-McGuckin. Then Connolly-McGuckin gave the game ball to Dorshimer. Dorshimer became Jenkintown's all-time leading scorer on Tuesday night during a 46-24 Bicentennial Constitution girls' basketball victory over visiting Morrisville.

First Emma Dorshimer took the record from Rachel Connolly-McGuckin.

Then Connolly-McGuckin gave the game ball to Dorshimer.

Dorshimer became Jenkintown's all-time leading scorer on Tuesday night during a 46-24 Bicentennial Constitution girls' basketball victory over visiting Morrisville.

The record fell on a three-pointer with 39.2 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

They stopped play and Connolly-McGuckin, who graduated in 1996 with 1,485 points, came out to present Dorshimer with the ball and flowers.

Dorshimer finished with 24 points and now has 1,507 on her career.

Bicentennial Independence. Freshman Shirley Piotrowski (16 points, 9 rebounds, 9 blocks) narrowly missed a triple-double in Delco Christian's 60-35 win over visiting Calvary Christian.

Catholic. Ashley Smink had 20 points and went 9 for 9 from the line in Archbishop Ryan's 57-37 home win over St. Hubert.

Inter-Ac. Alex Kane scored 12 of her 16 points from beyond the arc to help Notre Dame cruise past visiting Baldwin, 48-23. Rachel Ryan added seven rebounds and four blocks.

Elodie Furey had 13 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks to power host Episcopal Academy to a 44-23 victory over Springside Chestnut Hill.

Central. Carley Hamilton scored 11 of her 22 points in the fourth quarter to help host Marple Newtown pull away from Springfield (Delco) and win, 49-42. Hamilton also had 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 steals.

Bridget Sherry grabbed eight rebounds and Strath Haven won, 39-27, at Penncrest.

Kristin Hamill paired 10 points with 14 rebounds to help Radnor turn away visiting Harriton, 48-32.

Jill Mascioli had 20 points and 13 rebounds to propel Conestoga past visiting Ridley, 61-50.

Brianna Blair had 14 points and 11 rebounds to help Haverford High win, 42-23, at Upper Darby.

Suburban One American. Julie Cross piled up 18 rebounds and scored 17 of her 24 points in the second half to rally visiting Upper Dublin past Cheltenham, 47-42.

Suburban One National. Deja Rawls had 13 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and Abington rolled over visiting Neshaminy, 61-25.

Pioneer. Abby Kapp had 27 points and made all six of her free throws in Boyertown's 50-34 triumph at Perkiomen Valley.

Nonleague. Dagny Davidsdottir scored 11 of her 27 points in the first quarter to spur Westtown to a 55-35 home win over Sacred Heart.
