Cheltenham boys win 4x400 at indoor nationals

The Cheltenham boys' 4x400-meter relay team won the national championship at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York City on Sunday.

Kyle Davis, John Lewis, Cordell Richardson and Christian Brissett ran a time of 3 minutes, 17.38 seconds, beating out Clara Barton (N.Y.) by more than two seconds.

Penn Wood's team of Ndiaga Seck, Ahmere Ponzo, Dennis Manyeah and Charlie Wells finished third with a time of 3:20.52.

Sam Ritz of Germantown Academy placed third in the one-mile run with a time of 4:08.67. He set a new state record for the third time this month.

Nicole Burke, Alexis Crosby, Ciara Leonard and Chanel Brisset of Cheltenham ran a time of 1:38.72 in the girls' 4x200-meter relay.
