Haverford School would beg to differ.

Grant Ament scored with 12 seconds remaining Thursday afternoon to lift the host Fords to an 11-10 nonleague victory over Florida's IMG.

Ament's winner broke the 10th tie of the game.

Forry Smith scored four goals for the Fords, who are ranked No. 1 in the nation by Nike/Lacrosse Magazine. Ament and Dox Aitken both finished with a goal and two assists.

IMG, which draws postgraduates and upper classmen from across the world, has the nation's only full-time lacrosse residency program. It defeated No. 3 McDonogh (Md.) on Tuesday.

In other nonleague action:

Eric Haab scored the winner late in the fourth quarter of Episcopal Academy's 11-10 victory over visiting St. Anthony's (N.Y.). Curtis Zappala scored three goals and Christian Feliziani won 18 of 25 faceoffs for the Churchmen, who are ranked No. 11 in the nation. St. Anthony's, which is ranked No. 5, was the New York Catholic High School Athletic Association runner-up last year.

Stephen Puras had seven assists in Pennridge's 17-7 win at Pottsgrove.

Jack Borbee scored in overtime to send Strath Haven to a 9-8 victory at West Chester Henderson. Sam Mutz tied it at the end of regulation.

T.J. Reiley delivered the winning goal late in Marple Newtown's 7-6 home win over Methacton.

Jim McAfee had three goals and three assists and Rob Barnett scored four to lead Germantown Academy to an 11-5 home win over Princeton Day.

Jack Wilson had three goals and one assist in Radnor's 9-8 win over Spring-Ford.

John Arth paired four goals with two assists as George School got by visiting Lawrence, 11-3.

Pioneer. Peyton Rieser went 15 for 15 on faceoffs in Perkiomen Valley's 15-1 victory at Boyertown.

Baseball

Sam Istvan started the comeback in the sixth then completed it with a bases-loaded, no-out bunt in the seventh as Germantown Friends gained a 5-4 nonleague win over Prep Charter.

Also in nonleague play:

Nick Mikesic drove in Andrew Bergman with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth and Perkiomen Valley held on for a 6-5 win at Souderton. Adam Gaines had three hits and three runs.

Nick Greco, Cameron Miller, and Justin Meyer combined on a six-inning no-hitter as Haverford School blanked visiting Westtown, 10-0.

Naquan Holden went 4 for 4 with seven RBIs in Perkiomen School's 17-0 win over visiting Academy of New Church.

Brooks Cannell stole home in the seventh inning of Germantown Academy's 7-2 win at Peddie School.

Shane Muntz hit two home runs and drove in three RBIs in Malvern Prep's 11-5 victory over Tartan (Minn.) in Fort Pierce, Fla.

Ches-Mont. Jackson Ray struck out five in a one-hitter to send host Octorara to a 2-1 victory over West Chester Henderson.
