It was basketball at its tightest Thursday night.

In a game with eight ties and six lead changes, Haverford School emerged as the winner, slipping past host Hun School (N.J.), 46-44, in a nonleague boys' game.

Kharon Randolph netted 15 points and put the Fords up by four with 20 seconds remaining.

Jack Marshall scored nine points and Asim Richards had five. The duo combined for 16 rebounds.

Micah Sims dished out six assists.

The victory was the first for new Haverford School head coach Bernie Rogers.

In another nonleague matchup, Stefan Saunders scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Cristo Rey to a 41-35 victory at Barrack Hebrew.
