Saturday's Pa. roundup: Shanelle Wright scores 30 of Parkway Northwest's 44 points

Saturday's basketball highlights.

Shanelle Wright scored 30 of her team's 44 points Saturday as the Parkway Northwest girls' basketball team squeaked past Roxborough, 44-43.

Paige Mott's 13 points and 12 rebounds led Abington Friends to a 43-35 win over Notre Dame. Jordan Smith and Zaniyyah Ross-Barnes each contributed double figure points for the Kangaroos. Abington Friends outscored the Irish 22-10 in the fourth quarter in large part to shooting 10-12 from the free throw line. Mott was named to Abington/Germantown Academy all-tournament team.

Kate Connelly's 13 points paced Souderton in a 38-33 win over St. Basil in the Jim Church Classic championship. Alana Cardona added 10 points for the Indians. Connolly was selected to the all-tournament team and Cardona was named the tournament MVP.

Megan Jonassen scored 18 points in Perkiomen Valley's 56-48 victory over Central Bucks West. Taylor Hamm added 13 points for the Vikings.

Elle Stauffer posted 12 points and 15 rebounds as Germantown Academy edged Abington, 60-54. Alexa Naessens scored a team-high 14 points for the Patriots. Rachel Balzer distributed six assists in the win.

Carmen Williams scored a game-high 21 points in Penn Charter's 52-46 triumph over Westtown.

Sophomore Rian Coleman scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds as Franklin Towne Charter defeated MaST Charter, 29-24.

Sarah Wilson and Jordyn Sherman scored 12 points apiece in New Nope-Solebury's 48-35 win over Hatboro-Horsham. Sabrina Vlahovic added 10 points for the Lions. New Hope-Solebury went 23-32 from the free throw line.

Kathryn Greenhut and Claire Marchese scored 10 points apiece as Bishop Shanahan escaped with a 43-40 victory over Harriton.

Anna Camden and Sanaa Redmond scored 20 points apiece as Shipley rolled past Lawrenceville, 56-33. Camden grabbed 17 rebounds to notch a double-double.

Lansdale Catholic opened a 14-point first quarter lead en route to a 57-31 victory over St. Hubert. Brady Wassel scored a game-high 17 points for the victors.

Olivia Pennypacker notched 14 points as Methacton handled Ridley, 51-30. Abby Penjuke and Sydney Tornetta each scored in the double figures for the Warriors.

Jasmine Hamilton scored 14 points as Phoenixville knocked off Strath Haven, 29-18, in the Phoenixville Tip-Off Tournament.

Kylie Webb scored 10 points as Boyertown fell to Good Counsel (Md.), 55-38.

Gwynedd-Mercy had balanced attack of eight scorers in a 46-32 defeat of Conestoga.

North Penn used 10 scorers to claim a 63-9 victory over Chester. Bri Hewlett's 13 points paced the Knights.

Jennifer Kremp scored 19 points in Jenkintown's 66-13 defeat of Springfield (M).

Boys' Basketball

Kyle Thompson's 28 points, eight rebounds, and five assists lifted St. Joseph's Prep to a 74-61 triumph over Penn Charter, to win the Enable Sports & Fitness Invitational championship. Trevor Wall added 17 points for the Hawks and Darius Kinnel distributed five assists. Ed Croswell had 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Sam Sessoms scored 37 points and had five assists as Shipley edged Neumann-Goretti, 69-64.

Kharon Randolph's 20 points propelled Haverford School to a 56-50 win over La Salle College in the Don McBride Classic championship. Christian Ray added 16 points and was named the MVP of the tournament.

DaQuan Granberry scored 30 points as Chichester edged Bartram, 72-68

Josh Friday's 23 points and 11 rebounds carried Friends' Central over Washington, 58-51. Bryce Spriggs and Toure Mosley-Banks each added double figure points for the Phoenix. Riccardo Whitfield put up 28 points in a losing effort.

Charles Carlies scored 14 points as Friends Select downed MaST Charter, 32-21, in the Friends Select Invitational championship game. Carlies was rewarded as the tournament MVP.
Jihad Watson's 18 points and Anthony McFall's 16 points led Math, Civics and Sciences to a 81-47 win over Shamokin.

Obinna Nwobodo and Tyler Smith each posted 12 points as Delco Christian beat Christian Academy, 47-33.

Tyler Strechay put up 31 points in Perkiomen Valley's comeback win over Kennett. The Vikings outscored the Blue Demons 16-4 in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Coyle scored 26 points in North Penn's 70-58 win over Upper Moreland.

Ward Roberts and Chris Shields each scored 13 points as Bensalem defeated Penn Wood, 49-42, in the Shamokin Tip-Off Tournament.

Aaron Harrison poured in 23 points as West Philadelphia took down Mastery South, 62-53. Raekwon Bradwell went on his own personal 9-0 run to begin the fourth quarter for his only points of the games

Peter Gard's 22 points and Pietro Berghella's 20 points lifted Germantown Friends over Paul Robeson, 68-63, in the Jim Church Classic.

Jihad Watson scored a game-high 18 points as Math, Civics and Sciences cruised to an 81-47 win over Shamokin. Anthony McFall added 16 points for the victors.

Devon Brewster's 25 points wasn't enough as Solebury School fell to Kiski Prep, 63-50, in the Shamokin Tip-Off Tournament.

Steven Pierce scored 15 points in Boys' Latin's loss to Dallas, 65-53.

Sean Sylvester scored 14 points as Holy Ghost Prep fell to Manheim Township, 48-36, in the Manheim Township Tip-off.

Colin Reed posted 15 points in Archbishop Ryan's loss to Boys' Latin (Md.), 60-49.
