Thursday's South Jersey roundup: Samantha Santos leads Cherry Hill West to upset win

Highlights from Thursday's sports in South Jersey.

Samantha Santos scored twice, including the game-winner in double overtime to lead No. 10 Cherry Hill West past No. 2 Mainland in the South Group 3 quarterfinals. The Lions take on third-seed Delsea in Monday's semifinals.

Julia Devanney struck in the second half to lift No. 10 Pitman to a 1-0 win against No. 2 Haddon Heights in the South Group 1 quarterfinals. Pitman faces No. 3 Pennsville in the semifinals on Monday.

Sydney Farnham and Raylyn Straubmuller scored a goal each as No. 4 Haddon Township topped No. 5 Buena, 2-1, in overtime in the South Group 1 quarterfinals. Olivia Dortu scored the lone goal for Buena. Haddon Township faces top-seeded Audubon on Monday in the semifinals.

No. 3 Washington Township blanked No. 6 Rancocas Valley, 3-0, in South Group 4 quarterfinal action. Amanda Attanasi scored twice and Breana Winder chipped in a goal in the win. Jordynn Stallard made seven saves to preserve the shutout. The Minutemaids face No. 2 Kingsway in Monday's semifinals.

Peyton Gilmore struck in the first half and Alison Gebhart made eight saves as Delsea edged Toms River South, 1-0, in the South Group 3 quarterfinals.

Field Hockey

Olivia Sindoni scored in the first half as Clearview held off Ocean City to win the South Group 3 championship, 1-0.

Abigail Regn scored four times to lift Seneca past Robbinsville, 5-0, in the Central Group 2 final. Samantha Derkas also scored.
