Sydney Tornetta's putback at the buzzer gave the Methacton girls' basketball team a 48-46 win over Upper Merion in the first round of the Pioneer Athletic Conference playoffs. Tornetta ended with 12 points on Thursday for the Warriors, who received 19 points and six rebounds from Olivia Pennypacker.

Upper Merion's Megan Gebhart tied the game at 46 on a three-pointer with seven seconds remaining. Tymeriah Stanton and Jordan Wilson had 10 points apiece for the Vikings.

Methacton will play No. 1 seed Spring-Ford on Saturday at Boyertown.

In other PAC playoff action, Taylor Hamm recorded 18 points to lead Perkiomen Valley past Boyertown, 56-37. The Vikings will face Pope John Paul II on Saturday.

Sydney Buell scored a game-high 20 points as Pennsbury took down Truman, 59-34.

Boys' Basketball

Jonathan Post netted 26 points as Pennridge held off North Penn, 57-43.

Alec Catterton and Max Rapoport finished with 22 and 20 points, respectively, as Wissahickon rolled past Springfield (Montco), 76-32.
