The Pitman girls' soccer team fell to Shore Regional, 8-1, in the state Group 1 semifinals on Tuesday. Emily Galvin scored the lone goal for Pitman.

The loss ended a magical run for the Panthers, who were coming off an overtime victory over Group 1 power Haddon Township in the sectional title game. The Panthers defeated defending sectional champ Haddon Heights in the quarterfinals and Pennsville in the semifinals.

Julia Eichenbaum netted four goals for Shore, which will play Glen Ridge in Saturday's final. The five-time defending Central Jersey Group 1 champions have won the last two Group 1 state titles.

Ocean City lost to Allentown, 6-1, in the state Group 3 semifinals. Abbey Kampmeyer scored the Red Raiders' lone goal.

Ocean City beat Cherry Hill West on penalty kicks in the sectional final. Allentown will face Middletown South, which upset Northern Highlands in its semifinal, in the Group 3 final on Saturday.

Cinnaminson put up a good fight but came up short in penalty kicks against Wall in the state Group 2 semifinals. Lauren Karabin had the game-winning shot as Wall won by a 5-4 margin in penalties.

Courtney Carduner gave Wall a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute, but Cinnaminson's Emma Karch tied things up in the second half.

The Pirates were coming off a victory over Haddonfield in the sectional final. Wall, which earned a co-championship with Northern Highlands in Group 3 last season, will play Westwood in Saturday's final.
