Son of Smarty Jones racing in Pennsylvania Nursery

Bred and owned by Patricia Chapman, Res Judicata wears the same Someday Farm colors made famous by Smarty Jones. He made his debut July 12 at Penn National and came from off the pace to win at five furlongs as the 4-5 betting favorite.

After finishing fourth in his second race, Res Judicata pulled away impressively three weeks later to win the $75,000 Chris Elser Memorial.

Smarty Jones won the Pennsylvania Nursery in 2003.

Jeremy Rose will return to the saddle Saturday for trainer John Servis.

Other contenders include Thomas McClay's Uptown Boy and Ramon Preciado's Siete de Oros and Southern Honor, racing for Bill and Vicki Poston Racing Inc.
