Here is a look at  the NFL team by team:

In predicted order of finish

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys

Worth noting: The Cowboys spent a first-round pick on Taco Charlton, an athletic defensive end they are counting on to put some life into the pass rush. Charlton's first name is Vidauntae, but his mother nicknamed him Taco because he was born premature in 1994 around the time Taco Bell was running commercials to "run for the border" since he was rushing to enter the world. … It'll be interesting to see how the Cowboys divide the running back work in Week 1 between Ezekiel Elliott and backup Darren McFadden given Elliott's looming six-game suspension. … Linebacker Jaylon Smith, a second-round pick who missed all of 2016, looked great in camp. Originally slated to be eased into the linebacker rotation, Smith can expect more time now that projected starter Anthony Hitchens (knee) will be out indefinitely. … Cooper Rush, an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan, surprisingly won the backup quarterback job, which was held last year by new CBS lead analyst Tony Romo.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 9.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. Green Bay (Week 5).

Number to know: 24 – Total rushing attempts last season for Darren McFadden, who did not play until Week 15 because of a broken elbow.

Eagles

Worth noting:  The Birds revamped the wide receiving corps in hopes of providing better weapons for second-year quarterback Carson Wentz. … Alshon Jeffery, signed to a one-year deal after five seasons in Chicago,  has missed 11 games over the last two years with various injuries. He has No. 1 wide receiver potential and terrific size (6-foot-4, 230 pounds), but his staying healthy could mean the difference between 9-7 and 6-10. … Cornerback Ronald Darby, whom the Eagles acquired from Buffalo in August, is the key to the secondary. The Eagles play in a division loaded with Pro Bowl-caliber wide receivers who have often opened them up like a can of tuna. … Owner Jeffrey Lurie, still chasing that elusive title, turns 66 on Friday, Sept. 8.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Kansas City (Week 2).

Number to know: 607 – Pass attempts last season by Carson Wentz, fifth most in the NFL and most in Eagles franchise history.

New York Giants

Worth noting: Except for a burst against the Jets in the third preseason game, the Giants offense hasn't looked very sharp again, which is causing some major anxiety in New York. The Giants were held to fewer than 20 points in each of their final six games last season, including a wild-card loss at Green Bay. … Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. took a scary shot to the legs in the second preseason game. He missed practice early this week, so the injury is still lingering going into Sunday night's divisional opener in Dallas. … Brandon Marshall, a wide receiver with a sizable ego, had this to say about Beckham when he signed: "That's why I came here, because of him. I'm tired of getting double coverage and vised in the red zone. I'll let him freakin' carry the weight." The Giants are Marshall's fifth team in nine years.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Oakland (Week 13).

Number to know: 3.5 – average yards per rushing attempt for Big Blue's offense last season, third-worst in football. Their six rushing touchdowns was the worst.

Washington Redskins

Worth noting: We're wondering if Kirk Cousins saw that deal that Matthew Stafford just signed with the Lions. The Redskins have refused to invest long-term in Cousins, who is playing under the franchise tag for the second consecutive year – a first for a quarterback. Having a starting quarterback feeling disenfranchised has to catch up with the Skins at some point. … Speaking of catching up, the Redskins also revamped their wide receivers corps. Terrelle Pryor, the former Ohio State quarterback and de facto No. 1 wide receiver for Washington, has struggled with drops. … Su'a Cravens' transition from linebacker to full-time strong safety was sidetracked when he injured his knee in the preseason opener. Cravens, 22, is also dealing with undisclosed personal issue that had him contemplating retirement. He'll be out at least a month.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 7.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Seattle (Week 9).

Number to know: 28 – Where the Redskins defense was ranked in total yards allowed each of the last two seasons. Greg Manusky replaced Joe Barry as coordinator.

NFC North

Green Bay Packers

Worth noting: This has been the first full offseason converted wide receiver Ty Montgomery has spent exclusively as a running back. Green Bay drafted three backs in the last four rounds. Fourth-round pick Jamaal Williams is what the fantasy players call a sleeper. … The Pack added tight ends Martellus Bennett and Lance Kendricks in free agency and used their first three draft picks on defense. Rookie corner Kevin King and safety Josh Jones are going to see extensive time as the Pack try to rebuild a defense that was 31st in passing yards allowed.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 10.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Carolina (Week 15).

Number to know: 12 – Quarterback Aaron Rodgers' jersey number and, more important, the number of years he and head coach Mike McCarthy have been together in Green Bay.

Minnesota Vikings

Worth noting: It looks like the Vikes got themselves a legitimate running back in second-rounder Dalvin Cook, when they sneaked in ahead of the Eagles by giving Cincinnati second- and fourth-round picks in a trade up. Cook and Latavius Murray will anchor the running game. … Their defense, which ranked third in passing yards allowed in 2016, gets Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Jameis Winston, Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers within the first six games. … They acquired left tackle Reilly Reiff (Detroit) and right tackle Mike Remmers (Carolina) to bolster an offensive line that often struggled during the 3-8 finish that followed a 5-0 start.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Pittsburgh (Week 2).

Number to know: 1 – Number of catches last year for Laquon Treadwell, a first-round pick in 2016 who never got out of neutral during his rookie season. He had a strong offseason and is currently projected as the No. 3 receiver.

Detroit Lions

Worth noting: Detroit extended quarterback Matthew Stafford with a five-year, $135 million contract that made him the highest-paid player in football. It's hard to imagine since he has never won a playoff game, but that's the market. … Greg Robinson will be Stafford's left tackle to start the season. Robinson was the No. 2 overall pick by the Rams in 2014 but fell out of favor in L.A. and was acquired by Detroit for just a sixth-round pick when starter Taylor Decker sustained a torn labrum in offseason workouts. Decker was put on the PUP list and will miss at least the first six games. … Starting Oct. 8, the Lions will have four consecutive games against opposing quarterbacks Cam Newton, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Cincinnati (Week 16).

Number to know: 21 – Age of Jarrad Davis, a first-round pick out of Florida (No. 21 overall, by the way) who will be calling the signals as the Lions' starting middle linebacker.

Chicago Bears

Worth noting: The Bears traded up from No. 3 to No. 2 to draft Mitch Trubisky but aren't starting the kid in Week 1. Mike Glennon, who was stuck in Tampa Bay behind Jameis Winston, was signed as a bridge to Mitch. … With Cameron Meredith (knee) out for the year and Markus Wheaton (finger) out for at least another week, Glennon's receiving options are light. Kevin White, the 7th overall pick in 2015, still hasn't gotten his career started because of injuries. He has a prime opportunity now.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 5.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. Atlanta (Week 1).

Number to know: 3 – Number of wins the Bears had last year, and each came with a different starting quarterback. Jay Cutler and Brian Hoyer were 1-4. Matt Barkley was 1-5.

NFC South

Carolina Panthers

Worth noting: They had to manage offseason reps for franchise quarterback Cam Newton following shoulder surgery in March. Newton completed a career-low 53 percent of his passes last season, and his six rushing attempts per game were the fewest of his career. … First-round pick Christian McCaffrey should help take the heat off Newton. He and Jonathan Stewart make for a solid running back pair. … The Panthers signed left tackle Matt Kalil, who will play alongside his brother, Ryan, Carolina's center. It's the first time they've ever been teammates.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 9

Most interesting non-divisional game: at New England (Week 4).

Number to know: 26 – Carolina's defense was 26th in points allowed last season after placing sixth the year before when Josh Norman was a major part of their secondary.

Atlanta Falcons

Worth noting: The last team to lose the Super Bowl and come back to win it the next season was the Dolphins, who won the championship in their undefeated season in 1972. That was 45 years ago and more than 12 years before Matt Ryan was born. … Atlanta is turning the page from its historic gag by moving into a new stadium that has a retractable roof and a video board that wraps around and is nearly a quarter mile long.  … Wide receiver Julio Jones sat out much of the preseason after offseason foot surgery, but he'll be fine for Week 1.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 10

Most interesting non-divisional game: at New England (Week 7).

Number to know: 5 – As in dollars, the relatively reasonable cost of a 12-ounce beer at the new stadium. They need something to wash away 28-3.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Worth noting: Tampa Bay won two games in 2014, drafted Jameis Winston, won six games in 2015 and went 9-7 last year. … How strong is the NFC South? Winston is the fourth-best quarterback in the division yet probably would be one of the first players taken if you had to start a team from scratch. … DeSean Jackson should open things up for Mike Evans on the other side. Despite occasional drops, Evans still posted 96 catches for 1,321 yards and 12 TDs last season. … Running back Doug Martin is suspended for the first three games for a performance-enhancing drug violation. … The Bucs added safety T.J. Ward, who was among Denver's final cuts. Ward is a thumper back there.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. New England (Week 5)

Number to know: 18 – Number of interceptions thrown by Winston last year. Only Philip Rivers, with 21, had more.

New Orleans Saints

Worth noting: The Saints were dealt a major blow when defensive tackle Nick Fairley was ruled out for the season after showing symptoms of an enlarged heart. While the Saints will miss Fairley, who had a career-high 6.5 sacks last season, perhaps the diagnosis saved his life. … Running back Adrian Peterson's first regular-season game as a Saint is back in Minnesota against his former team. … New Orleans hosts New England in Week 2. Drew Brees is 3-1 in games starting against Tom Brady.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Green Bay (Week 7).

Number to know: 7-9. The Saints record each of the last three years. As shown above, Vegas is expecting improvement.

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals

Worth noting: The Cards went an ugly 7-8-1 last season after going 13-3 in 2015. … They said they have improved their secondary, which includes safety Tyrann Mathieu being healthy again and making plays. … David Johnson has a chance to become the first player to gain 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving in the same season since Marshall Faulk 18 years ago. He had 1,239 rushing and 879 receiving last year.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Eagles (Week 5).

Number to know: 107 – Number of catches last season for Larry Fitzgerald, who turned 34 last week. It's the first time Fitzgerald led the league in receptions since he was 22.

Seattle Seahawks

Worth noting: Remember that playoff game two years ago when Minnesota kicker Blair Walsh bricked a 27-yard field goal in the final minute that likely would have given the Vikings an upset victory over the Seahawks? Take a wild guess who Seattle tabbed to replace kicker Steven Hauschka. … Speaking of reclamations, Eddie Lacy is part of a crowded group of running backs that also includes Thomas Rawls, C.J. Prosise, Chris Carson and maybe even Curt Warner. … Seattle acquired defensive end Sheldon Richardson from the Jets to provide even more talent up front. It gave up wide receiver Jermaine Kearse and a second-round pick next year.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 10.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Green Bay (Week 1).

Number to know: 28 – Age of star free safety Earl Thomas, who changed his mind about retiring after sustaining a broken tibia in Week 13 last season. He will be in the lineup for the opener at Aaron Rodgers' house.

Los Angeles Rams

Worth noting: The Rams brought in Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay as head coach. Counting interims, McVay is the franchise's eighth coach since it last made the playoffs in 2004. McVay, 31, is the youngest head coach in modern history. … His primary task will be to make something out of Jared Goff, who often looked overwhelmed last season when he went 0-7 as a starter. … The Week 14 game against the Eagles will be a matchup of the top two quarterbacks drafted in 2016, assuming Goff is in the lineup and/or the Eagles haven't wrapped up homefield advantage. That's a joke, folks.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 5.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Dallas (Week 4).

Number to know: 28 – Number of career sacks in three seasons for star defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who still was holding out for a new contract with the opener just a few days away.

San Francisco 49ers

Worth noting: New general manager John Lynch hired Kyle Shanahan away from the Falcons, and his first two draft picks were defensive players acquired as a result of trading one spot down to allow the Bears to select Mitch Trubisky. … Reuben Foster looks like the heir to NaVorro Bowman at middle linebacker, and Solomon Thomas will add depth to the D-line. … The 49ers allowed 47 sacks last season. Only Cleveland (66) and the Rams (49) allowed more. In other words, good luck to starting quarterback Brian Hoyer.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 4.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. Jacksonville (Week 16). Just kidding. Only the Grinch could look forward to this Christmas Eve coal of a contest.

Number to know: 4 – Hoyer is with his fourth team in four years. He was 7-6 with Chicago in 2014, 5-4 with Houston in 2015 and 1-4 for Chicago last year.

AFC East

New England Patriots

Worth noting: In three of the five years Bill Belichick has won the Super Bowl, there has been a total solar eclipse visible somewhere in the world. He's favored to make it four of six this year. … Tom Brady, who turned 40 in August, needs 44 touchdown passes to join Peyton Manning (539) and Brett Favre (508) as the only players with 500 in a career. He'd be closer without that silly four-game suspension he had to serve last season. … The loss of wide receiver Julian Edelman to a torn ACL is unfortunate, but the Pats should be OK. They traded for Phillip Dorsett last week, acquired Brandin Cooks in March, and have James White, Chris Hogan and others in reserve.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 11.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. Oakland in Mexico City (Week 11).

Number to know: 18 – Number of rushing touchdowns among Patriots running backs last season. All 18 were by LeGarrette Blount, who is now with the Eagles.

Miami Dolphins

Worth noting: Jay Cutler might be a better fit for Miami's offense than Ryan Tannehill, who injured his knee and is out for the year. Tannehill often was reluctant to throw the ball into tight coverage. Cutler will give Miami's talented receivers – DeVante Parker, Jarvis Landry, and Kenny Stills – a chance to make plays at the risk of tossing interceptions. Miami head coach Adam Gase worked with Cutler in Denver and Chicago. … Landry reportedly is being investigated by the NFL for domestic violence. … Three-time Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey, who played in just five games last season, is healthy again. … The Fins play New England twice in three weeks (Nov. 26 and Dec. 11) with a home game against Denver in between.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 7.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Atlanta (Week 6).

Number to know: 58.3 – percentage of field goals made last year from 40-49 yards by new kicker Cody Parkey, who was with Cleveland. Parkey was a rookie with the Eagles in 2014 when he made it to the Pro Bowl.

Buffalo Bills

Worth noting: The Bills are undergoing a Sam Hinkie-esque rebuilding phase with a new coach and GM, an entirely new secondary and new wide receivers. "I'm going into Year 9, and we haven't made the playoffs, and I feel it from everyone in town. I'm as impatient as everyone else," grumbled veteran center Eric Wood. … Quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who sustained a concussion on the opening drive of the third preseason game, was cleared to play on Tuesday. … Sean McDermott is the ninth former assistant to Andy Reid who has become a head coach. McDermott (La Salle High grad) was with the Eagles from 1999 to 2010. … LeSean McCoy needs 1,046 for 10,000 career rushing yards. … Jordan Matthews, acquired from the Eagles in August, leads a thin group of wide receivers.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 6.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Kansas City (Week 12).

Number to know: 17 – Seasons since the Bills made the playoffs, the longest current drought in the NFL and one that will grow to 18 sometime around Thanksgiving.

New York Jets

Worth noting: If it's any consolation for Jets fans, 2018 is supposed to be a good draft class for quarterbacks. … Josh McCown will be the 2017 starter, at least in Week 1. He is 18-42 in his career and turned 38 in July. Betcha a Mark Gastineau jersey he doesn't last 16 games. He might not even make it past Week 2's visit to Khalil Mack and the Raiders. … Quincy Enunwa was due to be the No. 1 wide receiver, but neck surgery knocked him out for the season. So it's Robby Anderson, a second-year pro out of Temple who caught 42 passes last year, and Jermaine Kearse, who was acquired from Seattle less than a week ago.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 3.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: Week 11 when they are on bye.

Number to know: 3 – The Jets ran three more offensive plays than their opponents did last season and scored 134 fewer points. Having a -20 turnover difference will do that.

AFC North

Pittsburgh Steelers

Worth noting: Running back Le'Veon Bell held out the entire preseason in protest of the franchise tag that Pittsburgh saddled him with in February. He wants $17 million per year and eventually signed the tag for $12.1 mil. Bell rolled up nearly 1,900 yards from scrimmage last season – in 12 games! – but missed virtually the last three quarters of the AFC championship game loss at New England with a groin injury that eventually required surgery. … New cornerback Joe Haden plays his former mates in Week 1 in Cleveland and Week 17 in Pittsburgh. … Former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva was due to make $615,000 until the Steelers gave him a four-year deal worth $24 million just before the start of camp. Villanueva, who turns 30 on Sept. 22, will be quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's left tackle. He was cut by the Eagles in 2014.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 10.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. New England (Week 15).

Number to know: 481 – Number of receptions Antonio Brown has over the last four seasons. In his seven-year career, Dez Bryant has 462.

Cincinnati Bengals

Worth noting: Linebacker Vontaze Burfict was in midseason form when he flattened Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman going over the middle in a preseason game two weeks ago. Sherman was defenseless and nowhere near the play, and Burfict got a three-game suspension for habitual dirty play. The league is not messing around, though it originally suspended him for five games, which means Burfict had better keep it clean. He's the Bengals' best defensive player. … Star wide receiver A.J. Green has recovered from the hamstring injury that caused him to miss the final six games last season. … Second-round rookie running back Joe Mixon, who was toxic on draft weekend because of a 2014 incident in which he punched a woman, has stayed out of trouble and will be a big part of the offense.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Green Bay (Week 3).

Number to know: 0-7 – The career postseason record for coach Marvin Lewis, who does not have a contract beyond 2017. Seat a little warm, Marv?

Baltimore Ravens

Worth noting: Quarterback Joe Flacco missed the entire preseason with a back injury but vowed to return for the season opener at Cincinnati. He had better because backup Ryan Mallet is not the answer. … Baltimore has three divisional games in the first four weeks. … The Ravens have made the playoffs only once in the four years since winning the Super Bowl. …Baltimore gave up 114 points in the final four games last season – nearly 40 percent of the 321 total they allowed – which led to some changes. The Ravens  brought cornerback Brandon Carr in from Dallas, safety Tony Jefferson in from Arizona, shipped tackle Tim Jernigan to the Eagles and used their first four picks on defensive players.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Green Bay (Week 11).

Number to know: 65 – Percentage of offensive plays the Ravens ran last season that were passes. That's staggering.

Cleveland Browns

Worth noting: Rookie DeShone Kizer beat out veterans Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler for the right – the burden? – to be the starting quarterback. Kizer, drafted in the second round out of Notre Dame, becomes the seventh different opening day starter Cleveland in seven years. Whew. The Super Six before him are Robert Griffin III, Josh McCown, Brian Hoyer, Jason Campbell, Brandon Weeden and Colt McCoy. … Kizer was born and raised in Toledo, so he's well aware of the Browns futility. … Osweiler was cut and landed back in Denver. … Number 1 overall pick Myles Garrett has developed a relationship with Hall of Famer and fellow defensive end Bruce Smith. "He can be an impact player in his first year," Smith said.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 4.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. N.Y. Jets (Week 5). Loser gets the inside track the next year's No. 1 overall pick.

Number to know: 12 – Number of consecutive years the Browns have started 0-1. Cleveland hosts Pittsburgh in Week 1. They are 9-point underdogs.

AFC South

Tennessee Titans

Worth noting: Cornerback Logan Ryan is the kind of guy we can root for. One of the first things he did when he signed a $30 million contract ($16 mil guaranteed) was pay off the $82,000 his older brother owed in student loans. And when he got married in St. Lucia in the offseason, he and his bride asked guests to make donations to an animal shelter in lieu of gifts. Ryan, who went to Rutgers and won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, is the pride of Eastern High School in Voorhees. … Four of Tennessee's first five games are against 2016 playoff teams (Oakland, Seattle, Houston, Miami). … Quarterback Marcus Mariota has fully recovered from the broken leg he sustained in Week 16 last season.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Pittsburgh (Week 11).

Number to know: 8 – Years since their last playoff berth. Kerry Collins was the quarterback, and Chris Johnson and LenDale White anchored the backfield.

Houston Texans

Worth noting: The Red Cross' contact info to help out Houston is 1-800-HELP-NOW (1-800-435-7669) or RedCross.org. … Tom Savage (1-1 last year) is the opening-day starting quarterback. The Texans pulled the plug on a $72 million mistake in Brock Osweiler by shipping him (and a second-round pick) to Cleveland. Ouch! We're wishing Savage, a Cardinal O'Hara High School product, nothing but the best of luck. But first-round pick Deshaun Watson is lurking. … The Texans have won the AFC South each of the last two years despite starting six different quarterbacks in that span. … Houston plays at Cincinnati and at New England in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. Jacksonville (Week 1). First game in Houston since Harvey.

Number to know: 13 – Number of games J.J. Watt missed last season because of a back injury. The Texans went 7-6 without their superstar defensive end/fundraiser, who is again healthy.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Worth noting: This division is poor enough that even just a decent season from quarterback Blake Bortles could mean a playoff berth. Bortles got the nod over Chad Henne largely because of his athleticism, which will come in handy if the offensive line is as poor as projected. … This could also make things difficult for first-round running back Leonard Fournette. … The Jags opened the bank to sign free agent cornerback A.J. Bouye from Houston ($67.5 million) and defensive end Calais Campbell from Arizona ($60 million). … Wide receiver Allen Robinson is in the final year of his contract and could be looking at the franchise tag rather than a long-term deal. Still just 24 years old, Robinson had a mediocre season last year after a monster 2015. Again, everything revolves around the quarterback.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 6.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Seattle (Week 14).

Number to know: 12 – Number of games the Jaguars play against teams that did not qualify for the playoffs last year. They should improve from 3-13.

Indianapolis Colts

Worth noting: The season hasn't even started, and there is a cloud of uncertainty over the Colts because of quarterback Andrew Luck's injured shoulder. … Indy acquired quarterback AB Jacoby Brissett from New England last week. … Pro Bowl cornerback Vontae Davis (groin) will be out for at least a few weeks. Starting center Ryan Kelly (foot surgery) also is hurt. … Kicker Adam Vinatieri is adjusting to a new holder because his previous one, Pat McAfee, retired. McAfee is 13 years younger than the 44-year-old Vinatieri. In Week 2, Vinatieri will play in his 177th game as a Colt, the same number (counting postseason) that he played for New England.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Seattle (Week 4).

Number to know: 104 – Consecutive games played (counting postseason) for Frank Gore, a remarkable feat for a running back. He's 8th all-time in rushing yards and needs 1,037 to crack the top four.

AFC West

Oakland Raiders

Worth noting: The teams will play two more seasons in Oakland while a stadium is being built in Las Vegas. What sort of regional crisis would that create in Philly if the Eagles tried a similar move? … The Raiders acquired running back Marshawn Lynch, an Oakland native, in a trade with Seattle. Lynch sat out last year in a brief retirement. Lynch turned 31 in April, so his 300-carry days are over. … Khalil Mack was the NFL's defensive  MVP last year despite playing on a unit that was ranked 26th in yards allowed. There is still uncertainty among the linebacker rotation. … Oakland plays New England in Mexico City in Week 11.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 9.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at Eagles (Week 16/Christmas night).

Number to know: 6 – Interceptions thrown by Derek Carr last season, easily a career low. Carr broke his leg in Week 16 but is healthy now.

Kansas City Chiefs

Worth noting: Alex Smith is 41-20 in the regular season as the Chiefs starting quarterback. But does anybody really care? He has thrown for fewer than 300 yards in 58 of those 61 games. And though he's also just 1-3 in the postseason, head coach Andy Reid firmly asserted that Smith is the starter. So what if KC traded up 17 spots and sent their 2018 first-round pick to Buffalo to draft Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes at No. 10. … Projected lead running back Spencer Ware sustained a season-ending knee injury in the third preseason game. Rookie Kareem Hunt will jump in. … The Chiefs host the Eagles in Week 2. Reid beat the Eagles in 2013, the only other meeting he's had against the Birds.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 9.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: at New England (Week 1). Andy Reid vs. Bill Belichick. What could go wrong?

Number to know: 6 – Number of games Travis Kelce had with at least 100 receiving yards last season. Only Julio Jones (7) had more.

Los Angeles Chargers

Worth noting: Who else thinks of the NBA Clippers when they see the Chargers abbreviated to LAC? … The Chargers bolted San Diego for Los Angeles despite not having a stadium. They'll play three seasons at the StubHub Center, a facility that seats just 27,000 and is more "stub" than "hub." … Their first home game is in Week 2 against Miami. … Rookie kicker Younghoe Koo's first name is pronounced Young-way. Figured we ought to clear that up right away. … It might sound counterintuitive, but the arrival of Anthony Lynn as head coach should be welcomed news for quarterback Philip Rivers, who has been sacked a league-high 259 times since 2010. Lynn, a former NFL running back, is a run-first kind of coach, which will benefit third-year running back Melvin Gordon (997 yards, 10 TDs last year) and hopefully keep Rivers from getting banged around so much. … The Chargers host the Eagles in Week 4. The Birds were 1-5 all-time in San Diego. The only win was in 1974.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 7.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. Miami (Week 2). It's the first home game in their new city as long as MLS's L.A. Galaxy don't play that day. Sigh.

Number to know: 23 – Number of games potential star wide receiver Keenan Allen has missed the last two years because of various injuries. He's healthy heading into Monday night's visit to Denver.

Denver Broncos

Worth noting: New head coach Vance Joseph was interviewed for the job two years ago when Denver opted to go with Gary Kubiak instead. Joseph was the defensive coordinator last season in Miami. He was a quarterback and running back in college at Colorado and spent two years in the NFL as a defensive back. The guy certainly has an understanding of both sides of the ball. … Trevor Siemian beat out Paxton Lynch, a first-round pick last year, for the starting quarterback job. … Center Matt Paradis had surgery on both hips in the spring. Ouch. … Defense is Denver's identity, and the Broncos ranking 28th against the run last season was part of the reason their string of five consecutive division titles was broken. Second-year safety Justin Simmons will take the place of T.J. Ward, who surprisingly was cut last week.

Vegas Vic's over/under wins: 8.5

Most interesting non-divisional game: vs. New England (Week 10). The Broncos play at the Eagles in Week 9.

Number to know: .578 – The 2016 winning percentage for the Broncos' opponents this year. It's the highest in football and a direct reflection of how good the AFC West is.
