COLLEGES: Penn State released new figures showing the school spent more than $27 million so far on legal fees, consultants and public relations firms to deal with the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse scandal.
The latest tally of $27,663,423 reflects money spent through Nov. 30, the university said in an updated note on its website, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
The total does not represent the entire financial impact of the scandal, as other expenses including a $60 million NCAA fine, $13 million in future bowl revenue stripped from the university and other expenses are not included. They push to total financial impact to Penn State to more than $100 million.
