FROM THE Pit in West Philly to Madison Square Garden to the sunny shores of Hawaii, Jabril Trawick has played a lot of hoops in a lot of different venues in his young life.

Yesterday morning, he was scheduled to take his second trip to Asia.

Trawick, who played at Abington Friends, is a starter for Georgetown's men's basketball team. The Hoyas are playing Oregon on Friday at Camp Humphreys in South Korea (8 p.m., ESPN) as part of the TV network's Veterans Week.

It's a 14-hour flight from Dulles in Washington to Seoul. "Sleep as much as you can," Trawick laughed, "and bring plenty of movies and music."

Trawick, a junior, and his fellow Hoyas are itching to get back onto the court after last season ended with an upset at the hands of No. 15 seed Florida Gulf Coast in an NCAA Tournament game in South Philly.

Trawick was a freshman when Georgetown played exhibition games in China in 2011, the second of which ended with a violent brawl between the Hoyas and a Chinese professional team. There will be no melee on Friday, at least if the boys know what's good for them.

"Every soldier, civilian, contractor and family member stationed in Korea represents the United States," Camp Humphreys sternly warns on its website. "Treat our Korean friends as you would want to be treated."

Trawick said playing Oregon will be just a small part of the anticipated experience.

"It's not every day you get chances like this," he said. "This gets you ready for life; learning about other cultures, seeing how other people live."

Cardinal sin

No. 43 of the 50 things to know about college basketball had a mistake in yesterday's paper. We said that Louisville was moving to the Big Ten with Rutgers. Of course, Maryland is moving to the Big Ten and Louisville is headed to the ACC, but not until the Cardinals play this season in the AAC.

All of this conference hopping is enough to drive you crazy.
