READING - Kyle Kendrick gave up one run in eight innings and Mike Costanzo hit a two-run homer as the Reading Phillies beat the Harrisburg Senators, 4-1, in the Eastern League last night.
Reading is 7-0 against Harrisburg and 4-6 against the rest of the league.
Kendrick struck out six in his eight-inning performance, the longest by a Reading pitcher this season.
Costanzo, a graduate of Archbishop Carroll who was the Philadelphia Phillies' No. 1 draft pick in 2005, scored the go-ahead run in the fourth on a wild pitch by Collin Balester.
He slugged his fourth homer of the season on a 3-0 count in the bottom of the eighth.
Closer Anderson Garcia saved his sixth game in six chances.

FREDERICK, Md. - Kila Kaaihue hit a two-run homer and Jose Duarte added a solo shot as the Blue Rocks beat the Keys in the Carolina League.
Brian McFall was 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI for the Blue Rocks.
