Consecutive doubles by Jacobs, Michael Garciaparra and Javon Moran, who was 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, accounted for two runs and a 6-6 tie in the eighth.

Reading has won a season-high four games in a row.

Trenton 4, Erie 2

ERIE - Shawn Garrett's two-run triple keyed a four-run first inning and Jeff Marquez made it stand up as the Thunder beat the SeaWolves in the Eastern League.

Buffalo 7, Ottawa 6

OTTAWA, Ontario - The Bisons built a seven-run lead on the strength of home runs by Ryan Mulhern and Brad Snyder, then barely held off the Lynx in the International League.

Sean Smith pitched six shutout innings for the win.

Ottawa's Danny Sandoval doubled in a run in the bottom of the ninth to cut Buffalo's lead to 7-4 with none out. A groundout by Chris Roberson drove in the fifth run, and Lou Collier's RBI single made it 7-6.

But Gary Burnham grounded to second to end the game.

Ottawa starter J.D. Durbin gave up all seven runs on nine hits and five walks in six innings.

Lake County 8, Lakewood 4

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Matthew Whitney, Roman Pena and Jason Denham homered to lead the Captains past the BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League.

Lakewood starter Kyle Drabek took his first loss, giving up five earned runs on seven hits and five walks in six innings.

Camden 6, Newark 5

NEWARK, N.J. - Denny Abreu's home run leading off the top of the 10th gave the Riversharks a win in the Atlantic League.

Chris Fussel retired the Bears in the bottom of the inning for his first save.

Wilmington 12, Lynchburg 6

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Miguel Vega hit a two-run single and Brett Bigler added a two-run double in a six-run fourth as the Blue Rocks beat the Hillcats in the Carolina League.
