TRENTON - Clete Thomas drove in three runs last night to lead the Erie SeaWolves past the Trenton Thunder, 12-1, in the Eastern League.

The loss was the largest margin of defeat for the Thunder this season.

Starter Kevin Whelan walked four batters in the first when Erie jumped out to a 3-0 lead.

Before the game, righthanders Joba Chamberlain and Ian Kennedy were promoted from Trenton to the triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. Lefthander Chase Wright and righthander Tyler Clippard were sent down.

BOWIE, Md. - Radhames Liz allowed only one run in seven innings to lead the Baysox past the Phillies in the Eastern League.

Zack Segovia was charged with four runs on seven hits in five innings to take the loss.

Wilmington 7, Salem 4

SALEM, Va. - Brian McFall drove in five runs with a homer, a double and a single, and Rowdy Hardy became the second 13-game winner in the minors as the Blue Rocks beat the Avalanche in the Carolina League.

Richmond 8, Ottawa 0

RICHMOND, Va. - Lance Cormier pitched a six-hitter for his first shutout of the season as the Braves shut out the Lynx in the International League.

Cormier struck out four without a walk for his fourth career complete game.

Lynx starter J.A. Happ gave up six earned runs in two innings.

Ottawa's Joe Thurston singled in the seventh to extend his on-base streak to 26 games.

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Scott Cousins ripped a two-run homer in the seventh to give the Grasshoppers a win over the BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League.

Newark 5, Camden 4

Victor Rodriguez singled in the winning run in the top of the 11th as the Bears beat the Riversharks in an Atlantic League game at Campbell's Field.

Atlantic City 6, N. Shore 4

LYNN, Mass. - An errant pickoff throw led to a four-run fifth as the Surf beat the Spirit in the Can-Am League.
