How popular is Carlos Ruiz?
Enough to make a Bucks County bartender show up for games this weekend in full uniform with catcher's gear and even spikes.
Paul "Tubby" Kushner, who works at Kenny's Spirited Eatery in Southampton, attended Friday and Sunday games in his Ruiz gear and was seated in the Diamond Club when he was spotted by a Daily News photographer.
"Anyone that knows me knows that I have done crazier things than that," said Kushner, who also wanted to mention that despite the Tubby moniker, he's really "150 pounds soaking wet."
Ballpark security was concerned about all the equipment, especially the spikes, but eventually he received permission to go to the seats.
Erica Rae Kurys, a fellow bartender at Kenny's said this was not the first time that Kushner had dressed up for a game. Kushner said he plans to be in attendance tomorrow sitting in the same section dressed as Chooch.
"We are all there to have fun, he said. "That's what being a Phillies fan is all about."
