HAMELS vs. METS: The Phillies were shut out in both of his starts at Citi Field last season. On Aug. 13, he held the Mets to one run in eight innings of a 1-0 loss. On May 27, he allowed three runs in 6 innings of a 3-0 loss. Hamels faced the Mets at Citizens Bank Park in his first start of this season, allowing six runs in 2 innings. Since then, he is 6-1 with a 2.35 ERA and has averaged more than seven innings in nine starts.

PHILLIES vs. PELFREY: It has been a tough season for Pelfrey, and the Phillies have played a part in it. In a 10-7 win at Citizens Bank Park, they scored seven runs in two innings against the Mets starter. In a 10-3 win, also in Philly, they scored four runs in 4 innings against him. Pelfrey had logged three straight quality starts before allowing five runs in six innings against the Yankees on May 22.

FYI: The hat worn by infielder Wilson Valdez during his pitching appearance against the Reds on Wednesday night is going to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
