Pitching matchup: Phillies RHP Roy Oswalt (3-2, 2.60) vs. Nationals LHP John Lannan (2-5, 4.40)

OSWALT vs. NATIONALS: Oswalt has yet to face the Nationals this season, but did so four times after the Phillies acquired him last July. In his Phillies debut, he allowed four runs in six innings. In the next three starts, he allowed two runs in 18 innings with 18 strikeouts and four walks.

LANNAN vs. PHILLIES: Lannan has a long and inconsistent history against the Phillies. On April 13, he held them to three runs in six innings. On May 5, he allowed six runs in two innings. The Phillies won both of those games. Last year, he faced them three times: a solid start (two runs in five innings) sandwiched by losses in which he allowed nine runs in 9 innings.

FYI: Lannan is 0-10 lifetime against the Phillies and the Nationals have lost his last 12 starts against them.
