Minor Leagues: Gordon fans 11 as IronPigs prevail

CHARLOTTE, N.C.. - Brian Gordon struck out 11 batters in six innings to pitch the Lehigh Valley IronPigs past the contact-challenged Charlotte Knights, 3-0, in the International League on Monday.

Reliever Michael Schwimmer had five strikeouts in his two shutout innings and Mike Zagurski had two Ks in one inning of work.

READING - Derrick Mitchell singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th as the Phillies outslugged the Thunder in the Eastern League.

Trenton ripped five homers in the game, including a pair by Bradley Suttle.

Reading's Cody Overbeck, who started the 12th with a single, slugged a pair.
