Pitching matchup: Cubs RHP Matt Garza (2-5, 4.07) vs. Phillies LHP Cliff Lee (5-5, 3.62)

LEE VS. CUBS: Lee stands at 5-5, but the Phillies have scored a total of six runs in his five losses and were shut out twice . . . Both Marlon Byrd and Alfonso Soriano wear out Lee - well, relatively (12-for-33) - but both are on the disabled list.

PHILLIES VS. GARZA: It has been a rocky first season away from Tampa Bay for Garza, who missed two starts with an elbow problem before returning for a four-inning disappointment in Cincinnati on Monday. He came off the DL without a rehab start . . . Phillies LF Raul Ibanez is 4-fo-9 lifetime off Garza, with two homers and three RBI.

FYI: The Phillies will not commit to a starter for the second game of their doubleheader Wednesday night against the Florida Marlns , but it likely will be Triple A standout Vance Worley, who is 2-1 with a 4.05 ERA in six major league appearances this season, including four starts filling in for Joe Blanton . . . Kyle Kendrick is expected to remain as Blanton's steady replacement in the other game Wednesday, a 1:05 p.m. start . . . Having pitched four times in 5 days, closer Ryan Madson was not available last night.
